Excellent video Jared. Appreciate all the time you put into the filming and editing of all your videos.

And I appreciate your generous feedback, as always :) I do love making these videos. Super fun, and it doesn't seem like many (if any) other people are producing this kind of xc ski related stuff. I just need to learn some techniques for capturing cleaner audio. Seems like I'm always battling wind and/or road noise. But, then again, I've probably been saying this for years. I know I should, but it's hard for me to embrace the idea of carrying a completely separate audio recording device with cables, external mics, etc... I'll figure it out one of these days. haha!

So very well explained Jared! I intend to step-by-step try this my next/first time out this year in a few weeks, especially the anchoring of the uphill pole. I'm interested to see if this is how I have always been doing it, without really thinking, or whether technique improvement changes are in order. Keep up the great instructional content!!

Hey Brad! Thank you, again, for all your kind words :) There's probably a really good chance that this is similar to how you've been doing performing this action as my little series of steps feels relatively intuitive. That said, I find that it's always beneficial to consciously understand why and what we're doing so that we can modify the technique to our needs, as well as to just have a process by which we can implement when stuff starts to come undone. When we're really tired, the terrain becomes exceptionally challenging, or our gear starts to falter (sticky snow or whatever), we need a point in which to return so that we can reset/realign our focus. Essentially, knowing what we "should" be doing enables us to quickly problem solve as to why we're struggling to get up that hill, for example. Thanks again for tuning in, and adding to the conversation! Oh, and we just got some fresh snow here in Tahoe these past two days (with a couple smaller storms on the way), so I'm hoping that this means winter for me is beginning in earnest :)

Thank you for another neat video on such an excellent skill to know how to do . I hear that you’re finally getting some snow there. Looking forward to hearing about it. Safe travels.

Hey Jennifer! I appreciate the kind words and nice feedback :) And, yes, we just got a really nice moderate snowstorm over the past two days. About 7 inches at lake level and easily a foot+ in the higher elevations. We even have some follow-up storms inbound for the next week+. I'm crossing my fingers that this is the real beginning to our winter. So nice to see everything covered in snow again!
