I said this on Steve’s channel but this cue describes what’s happening during a squat that feels really good. Excited to try thinking about it and see if it creates more consistency

I came across this video from Matt Vena's squat video mentioning Steve's Part 1 and I just had to comment to say THANK YOU! With both the belt to heels cue and the head angle adjustment in your other video, I squatted without any hip flexor pain today and it was the most natural my low bar has felt in forever. I've been dealing with hip pain on low bar for literally years especially leading up to a peaking block, to the point where the eccentric portion of the squat was such a pain for me. I always chalked it up a mobility issue caused by fatigue...I can't believe this fixed it, what a relief!

Steve posting about a lot of paused squats for COM for your programming helped me realize I had similar leverages and squat problems. Since then I PRd my squat by 12.5kg in comp. With that inspiration I'd like to try to implement this cue. Thanks for sharing 🌞❣️ you and Steve are the 🐐🐐🐐🐐.

Hey thanks for the great video. I like that it was to the point with all of the different camera angles with no fluff. Definitely helped out my squat mechanics.

This is a great tip! Congratulations on the video, very well-explained. I started in powerlifting using knee wraps, so the cue to sit back and open the knees outward seemed to work well. Now, transitioning to knee sleeves, I'm feeling a bit of difficulty and I'm looking forward to trying out this new cue. Thank you for sharing!

Do you have a recommended cue for the concentric?

I know it’s not the subject of the video but what are you doing with your ankles/feet right before each squat? Thanks 😊

Sure! Really I’m focusing on making sure my entire foot is in contact with the ground & creating a tripod (so heel, big toe, & pinky toe in contact). To cue this, I just think about pushing down gently with my big toe. With the belt to heel cue, this will ideally also keep the bar over the middle of my foot creating balance as well
