So happy to see this video. I have the table with the holes and now I feel confident in using it🎄

Hi Alexis! I'm so glad to hear you feel more confident. It's so much fun making circles - you can overlap them, do different threads, stitch other fabric over your base fabric and just have a lot of fun. Hope you had a joyous Christmas and our wishes to you for a fun & productive New Year! Happy 2022!🥳

Speaking of fabrics in different textures, I bet minky would look adorable combined with cotton on a baby blanket! Thank you for the wonderful video 😊

Hi Rachel, I agree. I think it would be very cute to have different types and sizes of minky sewn on a baby quilt. Lots of textures for baby to experience!

I just received my Sew Steady table. Mine is 24x32 and I love it. Just needed to learn how to use the Circle Sewing Tool. Thank you Ana. :)

Circles are fun & using the table & the tool. I can see lots of circles in your future. It would be great fun to do a whole quilt with random size circles in bright colors for a baby quilt. Have fun!

I'm so glad you are inspired. Sew Steady has a great on-line class called "Woven Circles" that will introduce you to another way to use the tool. Thanks for watching!!

Does the stickiness wear away with time? If so, how long does it last?

Thank you. Much better demo than I could find elsewhere. I want to quilt circles on my quilt. Would you suggest this or the circle rulers?

I think it will depend on the size of the quilt. If your quilt is large and already finished, it may be easier to use some of the circle tools from Sew Steady/Westalee. You might want to look at the Circles on Quilts - Circles set. You can purchase a set of 2 or 4 and make circles from 2" to 12". Using these, you would not need to turn your quilt. If you are doing Quilt as You Go, then either will work for you. However, if your quilt is smaller and will roll up to fit in the throat of your machine, then you could use the tool I demonstrated. It works great with smaller projects like table runners, place mats, tree skirts, etc. and depending on your level of confidence (and practice) you could also pretty easily do a baby quilt. I'm glad you enjoyed the demo & learned from it. I love all of the Sew Steady products and find they are a great way to finish our projects. Have fun!!

Hi Leeia, Sorry, I just found your message. Either method would work to make circles. The difference would be that you can use your regular sewing foot with the Circles & Straights tool so you can make simple decorative stitches on the edge of the circle. With the circle rulers, you would be using the ruler foot so you could not really do a decorative stitch with it. Sew Steady does make a decorative trim foot so you can feed a yarn or small cord through the foot and use a small zig-zag stitch to sew it down as you go. I think you can see a demo of it on their website. You would most likely be using it with the Circles on Quilts - Circles. I have not tried that but I think with practice, it would work. Have fun!

Thank you! I had not seen the Circles and Straight Tool before! I was pretty unhappy because I have 7 different Sew Steady Tables, and the last 2 I bought right before they added the holes feature to the Deluxe/Wish Table. I just couldn't justify the expense of another table I dud not need just to make circles! Plus I would have to narrow it down to one choice of a machine to sew circles on. This will be perfect because I will be able to use it on ANY of my sewing machines!

@@sherylandrews7109 I'm so glad you enjoyed the video! We had a good time making it and kudos to our video guy Tom. It's a great addition to your Sew Steady supplies. You probably already know that when the back of the yellow strip becomes less "clingy" to your table that you can just wash it with warm water & it will be clingy once again. The back of the bar with the pin is quite sticky so I only move the clear strip on the back about 1/4" to 1/2" away from the edge and it will stick down very well. It's so much fun to play with you will love sewing in circles! Such a chance to be creative. I think there is a class on the Sew Steady site using the tool to make a really cool looking table topper. Be sure to check it out! Again, thanks for watching!

Do you prefer to use the universal circle and straight tool vs using the hole in the table? I'm debating between getting a Sew Steady Large table with out holes or the Deluxe table with holes.

I have used both. The Circles & Straight tool is especially nice if you don't have the table with holes and it does allow you a lot of flexibility in the sizes. The only issue is that you have to be sure the fabric is moving well & not bunching up as it turns. If getting the Deluxe table with the holes is an option, I do prefer using the table since it is a flatter surface to work on but either does the job. That's a great question - thanks for asking.
