Almost all applications related to MikroTik are released using the .exe extension, which means that the application is designed to run on Windows OS. Call it winbox.exe, netinstall.exe, btest.exe and the dude client is also released using the *.exe extension. But over time, many Network Engineers began to switch to using other OS, for example from the Linux family and also Mac OS. Then how to run the *.exe application?
In this video we will discuss how to run the Netinstall application, an application that is useful for reinstalling MikroTik RouterOS on a Laptop with Mac OS 10.12 Sierra. To be able to run Windows-based applications, we need additional applications as emulators. On Mac OS there are actually several options such as CrossOver, Wine or PlayOnMac, but in this article we will try to use Wine which is quite simple to use.
