More neuroanatomy! We will now talk about structures outside the neuro cortex, starting with the cerebellum and the basal ganglia. These structures are important in managing movement. We will discuss how the cerebellum controls movement by transmitting and receiving information through it's peduncles, as well as what makes up the cerebellar nuclei.
We will also discuss some pathology of the cerebellum, including Chiari malformations and Dandy-Walker.
Lastly, we will discuss the basal ganglia. These nuclei in the brain, again, help us control our movement. We will talk about the nuclei that make up the basal ganglia, as well as the pathways it takes to control our movement.
