I have a great Uncle that is still on that ship. He was 18yrs old, served as a water tender. He had that day off. His buddy's wife came to visit and switched with his friend so he could visit his wife. My uncle went back to work and that's when the Japanese bombed he USSArizona. He was killed instantly. My great grandfather use to tell me stories of his little brother. RIP to my great Uncle William Ratkovich!

God bless your great Uncle, May he rest in Peace. I was born and raised in Hawai’i and have been going to the Visitor Memorial since I was in the 8th grade (1982). Now, my 17 year old son always wants to go to Pearl Harbor when we return to visit Hawai’i.

The VEstal (repairing) Arizona my father barely survived and Vestal s captain got Medal of Honor. Captain Young for calling to cut ropes to Arazonia and getting underway and therefore not blocking way out of harbor. His ship with 2 hits from Japanese bombs. My father survived until passingawy years later.I am a proud daughter of all men on on both ships. Please these men. I am almost 80 years. My son was on the ship that the surrender was signed on. Now both ships in Peral. Vestal mooring block right there. Remember men on all ships.

In 1972, I visited for the first time. Some Japanese tourists were laughing and acting like it was a joke. I walked up to them and yelled, Hiroshima boom. They quickly shut up and went to the boat to leave.

The fact we allowed Emperor Hirohito to visit the U.S.S. Arizona still bothers me. Mind you, I’m glad the United States and Japan are now Allies. I’ve visited Japan and it’s a beautiful country, with a great culture and wonderful people but there are still things that shouldn’t be done.

All those drowned Sailors 01/25/2020 by Gerardo Molinar So young the faces and full of life, have now gone into a slumber sleep, Loving care is taken to wrap their shipmates as they are buried in the ocean deep. They slide off the board one by one as taps sounds off in the background, Sailors stand at attention rendering their final salute with a rifle volley of 3 rounds. Casualties of war so young the Sailors and U.S Marines never more to be seen, No marker, crosses, wreaths or place to visit for loved ones to go and see. Davy Jones locker is full of all those who were buried or lost out at sea, Their place of burial they can never desecrate, the sea will never set them free. All those buried out at sea is for all eternity, for she will never give up her dead, The ocean shall never go dry for it is constantly filled with all those tears shed. All the drowned Sailors since the beginning of exploring the unknown ocean, Braving her temperament for Sailors have an undying love and devotion. May the Lord watch over all sailors, and for those who are lost at sea, May he welcome you unto his kingdom with Love and Eternal peace.

The idea that the Japanese had -if they sank a half dozen WW1-era battleships (where most would be salvaged and would go on to serve for the rest of the war) it would give them an advantage was insane. Totally insane. The ships that replaced Arizona, whose 14 inch guns travelling at 21 knots could move at speeds between 33 and 38 knots and packed heat to the tune of 16" guns came out in less than 3 years. Never mind the hundreds of light and heavy carriers, destroyers cruisers and submarines that the USN could throw at the Japanese. It was really the most supreme act of folly in the history of warfare.
@patkinder6632

The Japanese were hoping to find a carrier or two in port , or even near by , but of course didn't. Crippling the base was also on the plan , would've forced our fleet back to west ports and to operate without an advanced forward base.

Rest in peace for all the soldiers on board the US Arizona that was destroyed by the Japanese during World War II and after the attack on Pearl Harbor, we made Japan pay for what they did, and they absolutely lost war. They didn’t stand a chance against United States. They pissed off, the wrong country to go to war with, that’s what they get for messing with us December 7, 1941 is the date of infamy which we never forget that our country was suddenly attacked by the Naval air forces of Japan

i would agree that it does look like bones there, like rib cage bones. however i would also agree that the sediment is very thick as it's all the way up to the top of that sink, which would stand roughly 36 inches off the deck. Why would there be bones on top of 36 inch sediment. it wouldnt make sense so i doubt they are actual bones of a human anyway.
@renaj9206

I noticed the video cut it almost out too. Coincidence much? But I think the reason they don't do lower decks is because machines can't get in there. Notice divers don't go in. Not allowed as it's a designated grave site
