As am I. CVN 79 should have been ENTERPRISE, instead of being named after a womanizer who lost his own command due to negligence. CVN65 crewmember, 1981-1984.

The way I determine the best is by its history. By that cryteria, there is only one: CV-6U.S.S.Enterprise with 12 battlestars, the most decorated aircraft carrier in World War 2! Built before the war started, it was in almost all major battles in the Pacific untilbattle damage forced it out of service just before the war ended!

Having served on an aircraft carrier (CV-41) I can tell you that in all honesty the aircraft carriers in today's battlefield are nothing more than big fat floating targets.
@rickjames18

Right, everyone that can is building or wanting to build carriers which makes me think why countries would spend billions on such "obsolete" fat floating targets. I mean, sorry but that is a laughable take. A carrier doesn't just float around by itself without defenses waiting to be hit.
@higherpower7176

@@rickjames18it’s been said sinking one of these is next to impossible. All the clever designs to keep water from flooding it, all the defensive measures surrounding each carrier. They really are incredibly impressive

@@higherpower7176 I agree with you which is why I laugh at people who claim carriers are all the sudden obsolete because "hypersonic" missiles are now a credible threat. I don't think people realize how protected carriers are or how hard they are to sink. Experts around the world can't be wrong and this internet "expert" right.

@@rickjames18 Dont anyone believe all the hype. (pun intended) Hypersonic missles can go extremely fast and hit ships, but they cannot do them both at the same time. They can be either hypersonic or low observable but, not in tandem. Traveling at hypersonic speeds creates a plasma layer that blocks radar signals. They have to slow down to track moving ships which makes them vulnerable. They are also highly observable... They are quite dangerous but moreso to stationary targets. Mobile targets are sill threatened but there are limitations.

I don't believe America is capable of building a Aircraft Carrier decorated with such a (Super) adjective. Technologically, we are far behind our enemies, our weaponry is weak and outdated, we are constantly being humiliated in the eyes of the world, and this floating piece of iron won't help with that.😴🥱

Right, except for some odd reason almost all experts would be laughing at such a comment. The evidence is also clear, US weapons are taking almost half of the global arms deals because experts from across the world agree US weapons are the best. Russia weapons have lost huge profits because those same experts and countries no longer trust Russian trash. At least not like they did before the war in Ukraine made it obvious western weapons were far far better. Just look at the decline in Russian weapons sales across the board. Anyone with half a brain will just laugh at such a comment. No amount of cope will change this.
