After years of effort and a weeks-long journey from the Gulf of Mexico, the USS Orleck arrived at the mouth of the St Johns River on the morning of March 26, 2022. We captured the final 13 miles of her journey, and present it now to you in stunning 4K UHD, captured mostly from our DJI Mavic 3, and heavily utilizing the 7X telephoto lens. We hope you enjoy. We can't wait to see the Orleck take its place as the crowning jewel of the Jacksonville Naval Museum later this year. #Orleck #museumship #navy
History on the USS Orleck from Wikipedia: USS Orleck (DD-886), is a Gearing-class destroyer in service with the United States Navy from 1945 to 1982. In October 1982 she was sold to Turkey and renamed Yücetepe (D 345). After her final decommissioning the Turkish government transferred Yücetepe to the Southeast Texas War Memorial and Heritage Foundation at Orange, Texas, where she was berthed as a museum ship. The Orleck Foundation then decided to move the ship to the Calcasieu River in Lake Charles, Louisiana. On March 26, 2022, she arrived in Jacksonville, FL, where she will serve as a Naval Museum on the downtown riverfront.
Drone operations were conducted by an FAA Part 107 licensed pilot with all applicable waivers and/or airspace authorizations.
