Raging forest fires have taken down the wildlife and forest across the world. Even though this has been a natural phenomenon from the beginning of time, it hasn't remained natural anymore. For a couple of centuries now, most of these wildfires/ bushfires have been man-made, because of various short term benefits involved.
Major forest fires have drawn the attention of the media and public. Wildfires/ forest fires do not get the attention of the media until they reach a certain extent or cause certain damage (especially pertaining to humans). That is the reason why Amazon, Australian or California bushfires managed to get the attention, that too only in the later stages.
Forest fire disasters are a usual occurrence in many parts of the world, whereas in varied scales. Some of these cause a huge loss of habitat while others take away forests and wildlife in parts.
In this short film on forest fires in the small region of India- Nainital, Uttarakhand. It's shown how these raging fires are directly or indirectly harming humans, wildlife, and vegetation.
What can we as the mere general public do about it? Why aren't they getting the deserved attention? What are your thoughts about it? Drop them in the comment section below.
