Interesting observation. Oregon had to do what MSU did. They had to travel to Purdue for a Friday game. Despite the shutout, Purdue ran for over 200 yards to Oregon's 133. Oregon had their starters in until the end of the game. It was 21-0 at the beginning of the 4th quarter against a struggling Purdue team who lost to ND by 66 points and 52 points against Wisconsin. Don't tell me jet lag and 4 days to prep doesn't make the games harder.

Those fairweather fans who were chirping about benching Chiles seem pretty darn quiet now… still a growing player, but I think last night was a demonstration of this kid’s potential. Smith and co are building something special in East Lansing! Go Green!

I think it’s stupid to dump on fans who were upset with a QB who currently has a 1:3 TD:INT ratio on the season. I’m not among the crowd that wanted him benched, but he still should’ve had two INTs against Iowa. It’s not unreasonable to be frustrated about that.

How is it fairweather to ask your qb not to turn the ball over? Lol. He lost the BC game with bad turnovers including the last throw into double coverage. You cant win turning the ball over 3 4 times a game. That's not fair weather it's the truth.

Don't want to criticize KIm, because he had a fantastic game and has had a fantastic season. He is money on FGs. But, kick-offs are a bit suspect. Can't be giving teams like IU, UM, IL the kind of kick off field position on every kick off.

Seems like he has the leg to kick it through the end zone every time so that was confusing me too. That squib kick worked pretty well in the 4th quarter. Maybe he was tiring himself out on all those field goals and we should get him an oxygen mask on the sidelines 😂

They did not want Iowas return guy to keep having big returns. So they kicked it to a tight end at the 30. I think a good coaching decision. The return guy was dangerously fast. Kim can pop it out of the end zone every time I think. He played a really perfect game IMO. I mean 18 out of 32 points. 6 field goal record. Way to go #97.

This win was almost entirely based on OL improvement. The ability to RUN THE BALL(!) is how MSU was able to control the clock, keep the defense rested, and open up passing opportunities for Chiles. Obviously, this was a stellar coaching job over the bye week. Michalczik earned the game ball this week. The defense seemed better, but I think that was largely because they could focus more on stopping the run. McNamarra missed more than a couple of throws that Oregon and Ohio State are going to make routinely, and he was absolutely no threat to run.. MSU knew going in that Iowa was unlikely to win through the air. This sets up rather nicely for next week, too, although Michigan will have plenty of tape to try to figure out how to go against our D.

on your side note. Can return. They have made it pointless and impossible. I took 30 dollars in about 8 months ago and it took about an hour to make the machines take them. Either the readers failed to read them, or the bins had to keep getting emptied. It should not cost you an hour of your life to turn bottles in. The machines they use have downgraded over the years. 20 years ago the machines they had would have taken less than an hour to return 2-300 dollars worth.

Yeah people are not returning bottles anymore because the machines are broken, the recylcling areas are disgusting and there is little to no staff to oversee them. The buck twenty you get for bringing back a 12 pack isnt even worth a candy bar in this economy.

JC, Michigan’s drop off could be due to not knowing the other team’s selected play prior to the snap.
