V really trusted Evey. He trusted her enough to give her the train. He knew they had no future together, but at least he had a chance to demonstrate his love to her, for the first and last time. And not less important, another reason I loved this is because it shows how important Evey is. She is essential at the end of the movie.

He was no longer an ordinary person. He was tortured and experimented upon. His body was burned. He extraordinarily survived, he escaped and made it his mission to make things 'right'. First to provide 'justice', cause chaos and destruction. He even left an apprentice / follower [Eve]. He knew he could not have a normal life. His 'mission' chose him. He chose to accept it. A very difficult task indeed. Of course the obvious parable is that V represents science [the new world] and Chancellor Sutler [Adam James Susan] represents religion [the old world]. He killed them just for a reward which was to kill the separatist leaders. it was palpatine who used and lied to him that dude was wrong because anakin cared about his family more than avenging palpatine he proved that by joining the person be hates the most after himself.

This movie has always been timeless to me. V stands for the voice of those who are too afraid to stand up in the face of oppression. The fact that his mask is only removed once, and his face is never shown (whatever is left), shows he is indeed an idea that is bulletproof and can be anyone “The 2 most powerful warriors are time & patience”-Leo Tolstoy. V represents that just by showing it took a decade to set up his train for Parliament.

Shows why this movie is great... Choosing revenge... or choosing love. In most movies, the choice pretty clear cut, and when the protagonist chooses the "abnormal" choice, a lot of people will be dumbfounded and say that it's poor writing. In this case, there's no clear choice. Being with Evey IS a good choice... but also fulfilling his "destiny" IS ALSO a good choice. So much so that you do wonder what would've happened if he did choose Evey.

Possibly the greatest temptation of all: Evey Hammond, in this case in the guise of Natalie Portman, by all accounts V's perfect counterpart....offering him everything he doesn't have, actual true human love and affection, physical, mental, spiritual and anything else. I think, back when this came out and I saw Portman's lips fall off that mask, I fell in love.....I can't imagine the decision in V's own mind. Utterly insane....choosing Evey....and pretty much succeeding in his mission....or just....DEATH. After all that time. It's pretty much beyond human capacity to fathom the choice...or rather, making the choice V made. We all must ask ourselves....the only loose end is Creedy...surely he could die another day, right?

Yeah, but V said it himself. He can't. He has little to no employable skills. He can't get a 9-5 working for some company. He can't be anything other than what he is and he can't do anything but walk down to the end of that tunnel to meet his end. Maybe Evey would have done it for him, but he wouldn't take it from her. Very much an allusion to the Count of Monte Cristo...when Mercedes pleads for Dantes to abandon the vengeance (to spare her son) and he responds with the entire litany of the evils pursued against him and others by the enemy. A fascinating contrast though...as in the novel, Dantes realizes that if he continues his path (vengeance) and scorns love...then he will soon be nothing more or less than his enemies. What did V think of Valerie's letter? Could he love enough to abandon vengeance? I really need to see this entire movie to get a better context on how the film story goes...

Something all who fight for change need to remember and remember well. The world we fight for is not for us, it’s up to those behind us to take what we gave them and do better. We punched the hole and they’ve got to run through it

Don’t you think that I know exactly who is who and the games routinely played. The games are old and so is the script. It is his naive nature to think that he was actually part of shaping anything for it was never his to begin with. A thief is a thief, mask or not. They are fooling themselves to think they are larger than life. This isn’t and hasn’t been because of them and that has been their true awakening. This is and has been because of one. They wanted to play but never really knew the game at all. Adam and Eve, not. Your crimes are what they are.

I think we saw a lot of these ideas played out in 2020 with police brutality, the violence against black people and protests. The people did fight back any way they could; that's how it is done. Everyone should be upset about it imo. That's what this movie stood for for me. When government or police abuse their power then the people should take it upon themselves to fight back.

If the system had any good left in it,you may get a love scene. This reality is painting out to be worse. People are worse, tech allows them to hide. People who do not act human, and act like they do not understand healthy human interaction

Exactly ☺️ Destroying parlament was a brilliant carefully designed plan to pass off to her. There was no one better choice after his influence to make her strong, brave and capable. But no one died... (Just like in fight club) All witnessed the collapse with the belief in their hearts that a newer, better version of life was possible... Inviting all to be a part of the possible... In the after chapters, hopefully, they CAN be together... Because HE was essential too🌹Especially for a new blueprint...and maybe love is important...?In the name of nothing less, maybe part 2 would be pass ing out scarlet carson's to all the Evey's they know on the eve of all they know, before the Evey's fall away, forget, or die in the lab-rat-prison camp as Ruth's love did, tortured, broken n' confused-writing poetic for the next... 🌹🤷♂️

One of my favorite movies, and one of my favorite parts. If only the people of this age and time were ready with the courage to face up to our hijack governments and cowards with money and guns directing governments. Only then will this old messed up world end, no sooner will a new world begin for our children and the unborn generations to come.
