I've been diagnosed with something called "MILITARY RELATED PTSD" I recall several incidents where I almost Lost my life overseas. I have bad dreams and anxiety and certain smells or sounds make my palms sweaty and my heart rate increase.. I have not as of yet been service connected for PTSD but I have filed. and thank God I am also getting treatment and that's what matters most. the compensation will come when it comes. but just having those difficult experiences while in service are always with me everyday. and I do the best I can as I always try each day to maintain a positive attitude and stay motivated and focus on my mental health and physical health, I loved Being in the Marines it was a hard tough way to Live but I loved it.

THE V.A. Raters have a Job to do and they have rules that they are trained to abide by. it's a tough process for us as Veterans. we got beat up while on active duty then when we retire or E.A.S. we are navigating on our own we have no First Sgt. no Sgt. Major, no Platoon Sgt. no admin section. we must become experts in ADMIN for our own benefit. whatever we earned we gotta go after that. I served overseas, I served on foreign soil for this great nation. i Loved my time in service .. 21 years in the Marine Corps Honorable service. but it beat me up physically and mentally.. thank God for the V.A. and for YOU-TUBE. as much as we complain i'm grateful for all of these benefits. I need the help and i'm grateful for the medical coverage. Honorable service is a big deal. it's a hard way of Life to be in the United States military. but it's also good i learned alot. good way to go.

#1, 2 and 3 were me. Denied in 90s, so I never went back. Now rated low for Lupus, which the VA does 0%, 60%, and 100%. Doing a supplemental since my VSO failed to advise to send in supporting evidence.. More men who were deployed are being diagnosed, so it's no longer a "female's disease". Get tested! My VSO was worthless, so now doing my own filing. She prob cost me $50k+ for being lazy. GWS has been denied 2 times now!!! The decision shows I was there, TERA "conceded", but no "diagnosis", so.... MAKE SURE YOU SEND IN Evidence, not just a "diagnosis".

I got a good job working for the gov so went to the VA in 91 to make sure I had the RIF protection. I got 10%. As I kept getting promotions, changed to an international company, promoted more, great insurance, just didn't see the need. Started working for the gov, but took a huge pay cut. So I needed the help to get meds covered. One of the main problems of being an older vet is you get the, "why didn't you go to the doctor for snoring?" Gee, how many 22 year old's do you know who go to the doctor for that. We don't see migraines in your military medical records. Well, do you see where I went in for hitting my head, at least twice? I didn't know what a migraine was, headache was a headache. I see you had sinus infections, but no headaches. Yeah, at Ft Gordon. They were PAs, you walked in with a headache they gave you bottle of motrin and amoxicillin. Do you see sinus infections anywhere else in my records?

I just won my sinus claim for Allergic Rhinitis with Epistaxis, BUT!! 3-years ago they gave me only a "0" Rating, Now going forward to November 29, 2022 , 3 years later, I asked my VA ENT doctor to please do a Endoscopy of my nose to once and for all see IF? I also have Polyps, BTW without having and proving you also have Polyps, you will get a big fact "0" rating. Well guess what?? My VA ENT doctor was 100% honest with me and said I do have Polyps. I filed for a 30% increase and won my case in less than 60-days' time. ask your doctor to do a endoscopy of your sinus's, 3 years ago they did not do this and I lost over $25,000.00 due to this error. I now have a total rating of 60% and do not need to pay for any medications the rest of my life as well.

@@ron4498 I am 90% now, but 70% is severe depression & anxiety disorder but it isn't perm yet. I have so much shit wrong it is unreal. I have severe IBS as well as esophageal ulcers, which they found in the Army, but they never found a cause. I am on Omeprazole and have been for years for Gerd though. My IBS was so bad I had to have Colo-rectal surgery to help get a fissure to heal, remove hemerobiids and skin tags the size of your thumb. I have migraines and headaches, not connected, but tinnitus is 10%. I had a Morton's neuroma in my left foot which changed my gait, causing my hip to misalign giving me sciatic down my right leg and giving me lower back problems. I had a C&P examiner ask me why I didn't have surgery on my neuroma. I told him because I skipped that day of med school. I have to tell some of these kids, look, before you were born, everything was on paper. So if you didn't know it, someone had to tell you about it or you didn't know to even look it up. I have 0% for exercise induced asthma as well, I think I can connect that to my sleep apnea. I also badly sprained my left thumb and can't move it all the way, but it is 0%. I can't grab my pinky to hold it down and make a 3. It also doesn't have the stamina & has some calcium and arthritis already. I'm tired of being in pain all the time.

Oh well at least Iam over 50% and do not have to pay for my Medications the rest of my life. in the future if?? my Ashma gets worse I might be able to get to that 100% but in a way i hope I never reach it. my health is much more important than money.

@@bigtime911 O.K, just recieved the decision papers. It states: "Service treatment records do not include any audiograms however the testing done today shows normal threshold bilaterally indictive of no hearing loss while in service. There is no complaint of tinnitus in service treatment records or at separation. First report of tinnitus was at the time of the claim. The Veteran reports working after military service in professions where there is noise exposure with and without hearing protection. Thoigh excessive noise exposure on active duty is conceded and tinnitus is reported today, there is no nexus of auditory damage due to active duty to relate current report of tinnitus to military noise. Service connection for tinnitus is denied since this condition neither occurred in nor was caused by service. We did not find a link between your medical condition and military service. Favorable findings identified in this decision: You have been diagnosed with a disability. Your VA examination conducted by LHI on February 1, 2023 reports a current tinnitus. Evidence show that a qualifying event, injury or disease had it's onset during your service. Your DD214 reports you served in the Air Force as a 45254M Tactical Aircraft Maintenance Specialist which exposed you to hazardous noise... DUH! This is basically what I've been told dince my 1st discharge and again on my 2nd discharge!...there's NOTHING wrong with you to claim disability. So, what am I supposed to do afyer service? These aren’t ‘earned’ benefits. They are disability and COMPENSATION. The implications between earned and compensation are very different. VA ratings are akin to civilian workers’ comp for people who are injured performing a job. You are being compensated for injuries you got while in service. There is nothing you can do in service to earn it; it’s merely a consequence of what happened to you while in service. Side note I don't understand why Musculoskeletal conditions are rated so low. The pain it causes can wreck havoc on your life and ability to do things.

H! What about if the C&P Examiner writes on his/her report that the condition is "more likely than not" caused by military service? Can the rater (not a medical professional) change that and get the veteran screwed? Thanks.

Quick question since I missed the live stream. I was diagnosed with high bp and prescribed cheap lisinopril by the VA. Clean bill of health before I joined 2007 mind you. I was denied on my claim and told to keep taking lisinopril (which never has worked as I explained to the doctor). Should I bother with an appeal? Currently have a PACT act claim (from sleeping next to a burn pit for 6 months hopefully that works out better).
@VAClaimsInsider
Жыл бұрын
A BVA appeal is not the best first option. You have two additional options to appeal: Higher Level Review (HLR) and Supplemental Claim. Our coaches make recommendations for each based on the Veteran’s specific situation. We recommend that Veterans try the HLR if the right evidence was submitted the first time. We recommend the Veteran submit a Supplemental Claim if they have new and relevant evidence to support the denied claim. A Board Appeal should be the last resort because it takes much longer, and we do not Coach Veterans through that process.

The question is can I apply secondary for heart disease from combination of the hypertension and sleep apnea or just one? No doubt it was so combo. Also, I had high cholesterol and very high triglycerides while I was in the military for 30 years that they never did treat. I tried to apply for that on my retirement exam and they said that wasn’t a Disorder that I had to wait till a Disorder developed (which is had now). Do I add those in when it’s a secondary claim? @VAClaimsInsider

If your disability was not diagnosed during service or if there are no documented symptoms in your military medical records, you probably do need a Nexus Letter. If you’re attempting to service connect a previously denied VA claim or you’re trying to file for secondary service connection, a Nexus Letter is highly recommended. Why? Because you need a powerful argument to overcome a previous VA claim denial (tip the scales in your favor). In addition, secondary service connection requires Medical Nexus Evidence that your new disability is “proximately due to” or “aggravated by” a current service-connected disability.

A VSO filed for me, as I am no expert in VA paperwork. If I already have an increase in major depression disorder, can I still put in anxiety depression for secondary for tinnitus?
@VAClaimsInsider
Жыл бұрын
Hi there! If you've already got a Tinnitus rating and Depression Rating it would be considered pyramiding by the VA. Pyramiding is the VA term for rating the same disability or the same manifestations in symptoms twice. The term comes from VA's regulations, section 4.14, regarding the avoidance of pyramiding. This regulation explicitly prohibits the practice of pyramiding in VA disability claims.
@zeroturn7091

Just file for an increase, don’t do the job for them. You’re rolling the dice separating your disabilities. There could be overlap, or the VA could interrogate you into an admission not involved with service. Best case scenario is that it’ll all be rolled into one rating (SC MH condition + new MH condition is still SC MH condition). Your symptoms could meet a higher criteria, stay the same, or even have an adverse effect if too many are deemed mild.

The military puts everyone through a long separation ordeal and 3 classes are va related who where when and why class a va education class and a va claim start class most people that properly separate has already submitted a Va claim prior to getting your dd214 some officers are not eligible and staff level enlisted can waive or ignore Va and many other classes

So the cnp says less likely are you automatically denied?

9/10 There would have to be something of record that contradicts the examiner’s opinion. The chances of a rater locating it are slim, and usually resolved at the appeal stage.

If you provide a DBQ and a nexus letter from your own doctor that contradicts the C&P Examiner, the tie goes to the veteran. Do your due diligence. See your own primary care doctor, have that doctor refer you to the specialist doctor you need to see to get that DBQ and nexus, and use that to submit to the VA with your claim.

Hi, is there a fee for your services?
@VAClaimsInsider
Жыл бұрын
We only get paid if you get an increase (and only with NEW money that you didn’t have before)! There aren't any upfront costs but when you win, we charge a portion of your increase. Our veterans say the fee is worth it, considering that so many of them spent years fighting for their benefits to no avail. If we don't increase your rating, we get $0. Take a look at the details here >> vaclaimsinsider.com/price-list/

Yeah, 6x the increase amount-it’s a pure ripoff. Get a VA accredited attorney that can legally only charge 20% of your backpay amount.

@@VAClaimsInsider bro there is nothing you can do for me I'm dieing. Just remember these words from a pension veteran. We love all our veterans. We are the hardest hit by pepole who say they won a war and deserve everything. And we have to go. I'm veteran Vietnam era. We worked tirelessly to get our personnel what they needed. Now because vets win a war there asking to have us removed. I kind of feel slapped across face but forgive them for they not know what they do. Keep up good work. We vets are all into this together. Plus I got the finger for trying to tell my side to combat Craig. Very very predjuice man. Only for combat. Dave Oregon USAF.

All I believe now is that the Veterans Administration that is supposed to represent all veterans does not represent the veterans it represents the government and does everything possible to keep the veterans receiving their due benefits. This can be seen in their way of rating us when we put in our claims. It is not fair for us veterans. We are fighting a loosing battle with the VA.

How would a vet deal with rude and abusive claims Reps that's are reviewing a veteran's claim. What I mean is a claims rep that's abusing the vet in the written claims reviews as vet is going the process of the claim. Calling the vet a liar and other names about information the vet is submitting for claim...

You CAN AND SHOULD report a bad veteran rep to the VA immediately by calling 1-800-827-1000.
