Congrats on getting the watch you covet. I hear the excitement in your voice as you reviewed the VC Eagle Malte. What I laughed to myself about was in your intro you stated you would refer to the watch as VC throughout the video but not once did you do that. I get it! You own a Vacheron Constantin....and you enjoyed saying it! I whole heartily agree, it's all about the journey. I wake up in the morning pondering over my collection, deciding which watch to wear, and hit the wear button in my Watchee app. At night think what my next few grailish watches will be and in what order I hope to get them. Keep up the good content you are putting as I look forward to the next one. BTW: 3000 plus subscriber n growing😁

Use those shortlist and grail status plates in Watchee haha! And yeah I did end up saying the full name more than I thought I would. It certainly is a fun watch to have in the collection. And yup passed the 3k mark. Onward I go. lol.

you made a good point concerning "buying what's economically responsible for you". i've once heard somebody who said "buy the watch that makes you wanna wear it and don't spend more than 1 month of salary on it". i agree with that. nobody should go red for a watch. there are things more important in life like buying/maintaining a house or investments. smart investments! not playing the "wall street dude". when you can benefit from it, then you can start to concider buying the luxury watch of your dreams. not the other way around. if you are ready to spend, let's say 50 grands on a watch, it should feel like you are spending 500 bucks. otherwise you are losing your mind in my opinion.

yeah agree. Thanks for noticing that important point. people should buy what they like, so long as they can afford it responsibly. Thankfully in my recent consolidation I came out about even with what they had cost me. Good watches can be found for any budget. :)

Hey there, I was looking at this on my local marketplace and just wanted to know if you still own this and your thoughts some years on. Owning a VC is one of my grails and this is a really unique piece I'm looking at. Thank you!

hello there. I do still own it, doubt I would ever sell it, and I continue to love it. Very unique. Are you looking through Chrono or somewhere else? What’s the price?

@@WatchComplicationsThanks for the reply and great to know you still have it. I found a complete set here in Singapore, direct from the owner, asking US$14,510. Haven't negotiated anything yet as I'm still considering.

chrono24 currently has the value at 20k, but I would try to get them closer to 10k, if possible if they are at 14…maybe 12. i bought mine mid 2020 when thr floor fell out from the lux market at the beginning of the pandemic, before people realized discretionary income would increase and the subsequent skyrocketing lux market, especially for watches.

but 14 is a reasonable price also, I would say. for the complete set in good condition

@@WatchComplications i'm just hoping to do a 1:1 trade for my Rolex 116600 SD4K because I feel like I can pick one up again in the future but the VC might not come around again for a long time. That said, I just did an overhaul for the SD4K at RSC and restored the watch to 'factory settings' so it does pain me a little if I had to let it go. watch dilemmas, first world problems lol

I envy you. That's one of the watches I have my eye on. Other brown dial watches Daytona in rose gold, Blancpain Villeret chrono with monopusher, Formex. But regardless of dial color I really like that line of VC watches.

There’s one variant of the Overseas that strikes my fancy, but generally for the brand, this is the one for me.

Very cool watch, and an excellent review~! I would refer to the color of the dial as a deep copper or a bronze sunburst.

No superlative chronometer printed on the dial?
@styx4947

I thought "superlative chronometer" was an in house Rolex designation? They have it cosc certified as the bare movement, but Rolex cases it up and tests it for "superlative" perfomance before ship out?

it is a Rolex thing, I was just alluding to the fact that a watch like this is on par with what is considered excellent time keeping.

your watch is an absolute bomb dude! but 3ATM?? ouch! they could make it a solid 5ATM in my opinion. at least. EDIT: have you waxed your strap? because you should. it will make it softer and more water/sweat resistant.
@WatchComplications

thanks! and yeah 5atm would be nice but at the end of day it is a chrono dress watch and 3atm is fairly common. As for the strap, yeah it could use a tad of care. :)

@@WatchComplications i tell you that because a quartz chronograph that i have is 5atm and i can easily wash my hands and get it wet without issues. so for a watch of that quality it's a bit annoying to me. i'd be scared at the 1st tiny drop going onto it haha! my panties wouldn't like that.
@WatchComplications

fair. In all actuality it probably has 5atm, but often a 3atm rating is the kind way of saying “don’t get it wet” haha. I have washed my hands plenty with it on recently, all good so far.
