Why is this considered primarily for when the solid is the product and liquid is waste? Are there potential problems to be aware of if the liquid is the product? I suppose if the liquid is very volatile, like many solvents, it could evaporate quicker under low pressure - but if the alternative is gravity-filtration which needs way more time, and it's not in some sort of sealed system, I suspect the would be less by doing it faster anyway. I'm not a labtech, just a DIYer with interrest in practical chemistry. I've been looking into very basic vacuum filtration as a method of cleaning accumulated (insolulable) gunk out of various liquid used for immersion so they can be reused for a while. It's hard to keep an eye on things when solutions become so muddy that you can't have good visibility.

How long does the solution stay sterile? I want to fill up sterile solutions in ampoules and seal them but doesnt get the solution contaminated if the solution stays in an open ampoule for about 2-3 minutes after sealing?

For something like that you would want to work in a glovebox.
