That's crazy, I can't believe air can actually flow through the mdf. Thanks for the vid!

Hi how did you connect the fein to the 1.25" PVC pipe and what flange are you using? Looking forward to replicating this!

I noticed you had two Feins. Did you try to use just one for vacuum+dust and it wasn't strong enough?

Awesome job man appreciate you sharing your design and process! My cnc is on its way and I'm currently designing my enclosure for it. I'm planning on including a vacuum hold table top as well. How long can you run the shop vac without it over heating? Any issue with that? Thanks again

I haven't had any overheating issues even with jobs that took 1-2 hours. Keep in mind though I'm using a FEIN turbo vacuum which is a higher quality vacuum than the average shop vac at your hardware store. If you use a basic shop vac it may burn out rather quickly.

Nice work! Do you think running a vacuum cleaner for the vacuum might be hard on the motor? They are not designed to run against resistance for long periods of time! Just wondering if you notice it getting hot? I really like the table though.

He is actually using a Fien vacuum which has 2 motors, one for the vacuum and one to cool the vacuum motor. I have one, although a little pricey, they are a great vacuum and is built to run continuously.

@@davidvanderschaaf7853 Do you know if all the dust extractors like festool and Makita have the same two motor design or is it exclusive to this brand?

Does your work piece have to be the exact size of your MDF waste board? Or can it be smaller?
@giantpune

I would say if anything, the rubber gasket should be close to the size and location of your stock. It wouldn't hurt anything if the waste board between those 2 was oversized.

@@giantpune So if I have a 20x40 vacuum surface and a waste board on top of that can I put a 12x12 on it and it will still hold it down?

You can make it smaller or whatever size you need. The window spline allows you to adjust the vacuumed surface area to what your surface is.

@@r2creativedesigns I understand that. I just know some people will make like a specific size and then glue the top part down so it gets the best seal and doesnt warp or anything. So if I make a 40 x 40 vacuum surface, that is glued down, can I still put a 10 x 10 down on that and it will hold it down?

@@Golfexpertbelieveme My board is 30x30 that is screwed down to the CNC bottom. I have lines cut throughout the 30x30 and if I have a 10x10 piece I want to hold down I cram the window spline into the board to a 10x10 size. So yes you adjust the window spline to your material size.
