Very good video. Another suggestion - You can also use the same design to pull liquid through a funnel. Place a filter in the funnel, pour in a dirty wash or gin maceration, pull a vacuum in a glass jug to draw the liquid through the funnel filter and into the jug. Just another handy use for your apparatus.

I believe the reason that your FastFerm started to collapse under vacuum was two reasons: 1. The high vac 2. The Fast Ferm was initially empty When you restarted the video and was playing with the Vacuum and was at 5 inHg, I noticed that your FastFerm was half filled and the weight of the liquid was preventing the collapse when you were increasing the vacuum. But as you mentioned 5 inHg would be adequate for the transfer. Love watching and learning from your videos George. You are an awesome teacher of the craft. Kind regards, Mike

Hey George did you have to use a grommet or something where the tube goes into the carboy lid?

You could also use the racking attachment on the bottom without having to drill a hole for a valve. Love ya Gorge!

Hey Gorge, love all the videos. Out of curiosity, could you drop an out tube close to the bottom of the delivery vessel and then pressurize it to push the liquid out?

At the end there, it didn't look to be degassing, but rather aerating.

Kind of off topic....if your still is a 5g variety....how much wash would you want to transfer over? 3g? 4g? How much room would you need to run your still ?

You do need head room in the still. In an 8 gallon still we never put more than 6-6.5 gallons. Hope this helps
