@egonsky You were probably responding to me. I think you missed my point. I wasn't saying "kids shouldn't learn music because it's too hard", I said "teachers shouldn't treat their pupils like that". There are many excellent teachers out there who treat kids with due caution, and many great musicians who weren't insulted and belittled every time they got a note wrong. This is not the only way, is what I'm saying here.

@shiveringflower Dear teenager. I just hope that by the time you have kids to send to a music school the teachers will not be allowed to emotionally abuse their pupils anymore. Sincerely, the person who mentioned that it is scarring to be taught like that, and you called him idiot because you have never thought of it this way.

@Lapez13 So for you kids should stay home watching tv ,computergames and eating mac donalds? Did it ever occure to you that he acctually liked learning playing the violin. And (russian) kids are strong and intelligent. They know its for there good and they know that they will be rewarded later. And whats so hard about it? he just repeats untill its correct ....its basics of learning things. For some people its 100 times worse learning maths all day at school as learning an instrument.

The teacher's attitude is hideous. He is abusive because he can be, because his student is too young to tell him to cut it out. Anything you want to communicate to a student, you can communicate in a kind manner. Students are more likely to hear and understand something it if they are not feeling upset by an imperious, insulting, and power-hungry attitude.
@jeanparke9373

I never dropped a tear at my lessons. As far as personality, obviously your teacher at times builts you the way you are and not the environment? So it was a dilemma. Let me make a person out of you or let me make a genius out of you. pristuplenita i nakazanita. Nakazivayut tolko pristupnikov. Moy kajdiy urok bil nakazaniyem poka moyi ruchki ne prevratilis v klavishi.

@shiveringflower Well, if you are 47, you must understand the difference between me criticizing the teaching methods I saw in a KZitem video, and you telling me PERSONALLY that my life experiences were "10 a penny". Also, I didn't say anything about the personal well being of Vadim Repin. That wasn't my point. I merely suggested that yelling on a child like that might not be appropriate, ESPECIALLY in the context of music. Let's both stop insulting each other.
