Hej. Miałem 100% zapełniony DPF . Uruchomiło się wypalanie DPF zeszło jedynie do 75% czemu tak. Jechałem trasa 4 bieg , obroty 2 tys . Czyżby DPF jest już przytkany i nie mogę go wypalić do 0% jadąc samochodem w trasie ?

The app is very helpful but how on earth do you manage do do it so fast, -1000 mg/h and more, in my TDI it's no more than -300, usually much less and the whole thing lasts forever...

Why is the Soot Mass Measured negative value ? Mine is also negative but I've seen other people with same engine but with positive values. Wonder why is that.

Sincerely, I don't understand that parameter. I've verified that it's negative also using the official VAG diagnostic instrument, but I can't understand why the value becomes sometime negative. I added it just because some users reported that in case of sensor failure, the soot mass calculated value would be wrong while the measured one should be more realistic that the calculated. I never experienced that behavior in my car, but many users confirmed it.

Is there a chance to start regeneration earlier than the ECU would do? When I know I have 15 minutes to the destination and 99% stuffed dpf Id rather launch the burn off earlier than wait for ECU to unleash hell in my garage.

It's a common question: technically should be possibile, but I prefer to let the app as a read only tester. Those active procedures can be risky if performed without a good knowledge. I dont want to give the possibility of causing damage by a simple click.

At my skoda superb 2011 i have Oil Ash Residue in l ? Does it mean Litres? Some friends of mine with passat have the value in g/grams? Is this normal?

Yes it's liters. The choice of the measuring unit depends on the availability in the ECU: some ECUs have the value in liters, some others in grams and few ECUs have both values. The app shows the available value and when both are present I prefer to use the value in grams because it's more precise. You can multiply the value in liters by 400 to obtain the same in grams.

So if I get it correctly...if that loading bar which is situated under "refresh" button and picture of DPF filter hit 100% ...car will automaticaly starts active regeneration...but in this video model....after end of active regeneration it wont stop at 0% but only on 23%...why? Because that means how messy (full) is DPF filter? Does it corespond (+/- few %) with Oil Ash residue?

Correct, when the value reaches 100% the regeneration should start, but consider that the ECU can decide to anticipate or posticipate the real starting moment taking into account the engine condition and other parameters like fuel level or driving style. The process ends before the 0% because when the soot is almost burned out and the filter is almost empty, the quantity of fuel required to keep high the temperature inside the filter is higher than before and also the time required to burn the same quantity of soot is higher than before, so I think that the vw engineers decided to stop the process at a reasonable value to don't waste too much fuel and time. It's a normal behavior, don't consider it an issue.

Usually the DPF regeneration starts when it hits close to 100% (after 99% I guess). In my case it always stops somewhere before 25%. I observed that regenration starts regardless of fuel level and engine temperature. Once I knew that the DPF will regenerate next time I drive and I noticed the DPF started heating up as soon as I started the car and was done in 10 minutes. I guess if you use the car mostly for +10km/+10min drives most regenerations will be executed correctly.

You have 2 possibilities: tap on the filter image to enable/disable the automatic update or select the option "Automatic start the data communication after connection" in the menu to have the function always enabled.

Out of curiosity, how do you know when they car will regenerate? For example, in my fiesta I use a similar program and I know the car will regen when the dpf_soot_load% reaches 2114%. Is there something similar here? An indicator of when a regen will occur?

No I'm sorry, the app works only with VAG (Volkswagen Audi Group) cars. Each brand has its own diagnostic protocol, unfortunately it ain't the same.

The engine code is one of the first information collected by the app during the initialization. If that code is in the internal engine list, the app automatically sets the right engine group, otherwise you will see and information popup that tells you to try each engine group looking for one that permits the data reading. Often an unknown (for the app) engine shares the same parameter setup of an existing group.

The app uses the soot mass and the regen duration to understand if the regeneration is in progress, but you have to consider that the regeneration can be active or passive. VAG DPF can detect both type showing red the inside of the filter
