The amount of rock cutting for the small stretch of path is unimaginable.

The sound of the steam loco is absolutely beautiful, it was putting in a lot of effort (on the gradient I suppose)

Wow, so narrow 😮 when it would be on a model railway I would consider it to be unrealistically narrow 😀 but here it is fantastic. And the steamer is beautiful 😍

It’s my understanding that someone who works as a fireman on this railway is involved in the ‘Lost Mines’ KZitem videos. Welsh mines look generally a lot wetter than typical US mines.

At the beginning I thought this was a model railway! - then I saw the trees blowing in the wind, and knew it must be a real (but narrowly gauge) one!! ....looks great. Where in Wales is this?

Hi, thanks for your lovely comment. It’s the Vale of Rheidol railway in mid wales. Starts in Aberystwyth, travels just under 12 miles to Devils Bridge

Beautiful capture of a hard working loco. If I’m not mistaken this line was operated by British Rail until privatisation in the 1990s?

They were converted to oil burners at one stage during BR days( I think) A friend who a driver on. The Cambrian ,has said that when he worked out of Aberystwyth shed he and his 2nd man had to do turn&turn about on the V of RR and I am sure he said no coal at that time. All of course during BR days
