A gorgeous gal with a lot of guts. All the best to her & the team. Thanks for posting these videos. A 1,000 times better to watch than NHRA & NASCAR.

I know it's been 2 years since your last video, but THANK YOU, this is TRULY 1 of my favorite channels. I have been drag racing and building engines for decades, and Bonneville is hopefully in my future before I leave this world. THANK YOU. T.S. RACING

Another great audio-visual production by Lou Fischer, who has captured so many LSR attempts in the past...including so many done by Valerie Thompson and motorcycle Streamliner 7.

I don't recall ever seeing a streamliner "porpoise" across the flats as Valerie and dozens of others displayed on their runs this year. When all 4 wheels leave terra firms as she was approaching 300PH, no rev limiter on the plant could keep up. The powertrain destruction was inevitable. I am sorry to say that Bonneville's current surface conditions are not as welcoming as they should be for high speed word record attempts. Car owner Marlo Treit is very wise to reset his vision to play out on Lake Gairdner in Australia where the salt surface can safely support such high speed attempts and hopefully reduce the parts breakage dramatically. Think of the energy and force expended to take finely machined pistons, rods, camshafts et al., and return the material to a near "newly mined" ore state. In both engines no less and in only a few seconds. Mercy. The absolute world record departed in 1982, the world motorcycle champion is hoping for a new record on the Bolivian salt flats and now Target 550 is forced to ship its dream machine to the other side of the planet. Poor, thin Bonneville. . . we hardly know you now. . .

The compliances in both front and rear tires and suspension as well look like amateur work (not to be rude, but helpfull, we need much more new records!) well out of balance, too soft - and too close to resonance, thus amplifing .. First, i thougt i complete new suspension idea would be helpfull, some sort of dragster tires seem to be totally unsuitable. Has anybody ever before used them successfully before? (Stable at 500 mph?)(dragster tires seem to be designed for taking extrem high loads at start for max acceleration, able to provide stability for peak seconds when passing the finish line. There speed-time-profil is an extrem short up and down ... )

It sure looks a lot sturdier than a jet with no wings.. Use steel rods not aluminum .. . I hope its' 4 wheel drive ..

Yes definitely more stable, and believe that a jet has no place on 4 wheels. Especially after hearing the bad news about the death of Jessi Combs recently, and is a really sad deal. Apparently her fatal run broke the record of 512 mph that was set in 1976, and averaged 531 on both passes. It has been sent to Guinness records, so that it can be verified and made official 😪

I watched Videos about their wingless jet .. It looked very sketchy to me.. They also had issues with the steering in the past.. They say a roll cage makes no difference in a crash at those speeds..

Why am I just now finding out about Valerie Thompson? She sounds pretty incredible! If some schmoe like me got a motor vehicle _anywhere close_ to 150 MPH - let alone 200 or 300 - I'd be emptying my bladder all over the seat! She does it and makes it look _easy!_ Give that woman her own mountain of golden kudos already! :-O (And it's a crying shame that this is apparently your only Valerie Thompson video where the comments _haven't_ been turned off yet; I can only assume that the mouthy little boys from the Burly He-Man Woman-Haters Club have been making the rounds and doing what they do best, which is pretty damned deplorable. To all those throwbacks, I wish to say, "This woman wiped out at almost 350 MPH and _survived,_ you envy-poisoned Neanderthals! She doesn't owe y'all a single bloody thing! Go make _your own_ stupid sandwiches! And don't forget the Immodium marinade!" >_< )
