@@ntfoperative9432 doubt it since the hellfighters arrived in 1917-1918 and this is verdun (1916). Also the senegalese wore uniforms similar to the French only in a copper color instead of blue

Lol, French always acknowledged black african troops in WW1. From school to the monuments raised in their honor in various French cities, along side the many decorations Africans regiments had. Stop listening to anti French propaganda.

France usually drops the ball with recognizing WW2 African troops. Unfortunately, De 'Gaulle was abit racist and he was working with Americans who were also racist. Black soldiers were excluded from victory parades like the victory march into Paris despite making up a significant percent of the French force.
@mrsupremegascon

@@rangergxi That's myth that they were excluded of the victory parade of WW2. You can look it up on wiki. They were massively presents. They even invited the king of Morroco and decorated him in front of the people for his help to the Free French force. What is true tho, is that due to American orders, they were whitewashed in Free France propaganda until late 1944, when Free France retook control on the country was able to emancipated themselves from USA policies.

looks like someone's been watching too much hollywood! France has always been on of the most tolerant nations in the world. particularly around this period! You should see how the Harlem hellfighters were treated in France compared ot their home country. Or Euguene Bullard how the first African american pilot flew in the French airforce, or check out 'Le chant des Africains' French war song. For goodness sake Thomas-Alexandre Dumas was a black French general back in the 1700s and theChevalier de Saint-Georges was both raised as one of France's most preeminent musketeers and musicians at the same time in history.
