Game preservation is still such a young concept due to how young the medium also is, the idea that devs can spend thousands of hours carefully creating assets and writing code to create a digital experience that can one day just be taken away is so baffling, fortunately there's been a multitude of efforts to combat this (mmorpgs have been at it for years with private servers). All those fun PS3 online games that just aren't playable anymore because they used dedicated servers and have been shut down, some geniuses have managed to reverse engineer the servers for *some* of those games to be playable through RPCS3, but it shouldn't have to be the playerbase to do that.

TF2 has the same meaning to people as Halo 3 did. They're both games that were part of a generation of people's childhood/teenage years, and both are very social games you can mess around and meet people. Don't forget the main thing of this protest guys - *DO NOT FU**IN STOP WITH THE MOVEMENT.* It's not like we hit 100k signatures, posted some bots related vids on June 3rd(today btw) and gone with hopes for Valve to do something. We must continue the movement *even AFTER* the June 3rd, that date is basically a starting point of us to rush Twitter, Reddit, KZitem and other social media with TF2's bot problem and what Valve is a careless company that doesn't care. I didn't have any hopes for second #SaveTF2 movement made by ShorK, since it was too weak and *too* friendly. But this, this one i have hopes for. It has proofs, it has the idea, the rage within every player who actually wants to make this game playable again. _And i really, _*_REALLY_*_ hate those, who cries that TF2 might get deleted after this._ *SO WHAT?* Today you could not see tomorrow anymore because of an accident, but do you think about it all the time to be bothered? *NO,* so get your shit together and protest for the game and against Valve. @@Hack--rz1io That's right dude, but I'll tell you more. Valve won't do such a thing as deleting their own game. First of all, deleting it will get whole TF2(and not only TF2 one) Community go enraged cos all their items they spent time and real money on, was gone. Where we could potentially sue them for that, legally. Secondly, TF2 is a profitable game, it might not earn as much money as Dota or CS:GO, but Valve gets money from it. So basically, what's easier and smarter to do? Update their shitass VAC-Ban system for all these games including ours so everyone will be happy and Valve will be more profitable than before OR delete the issue by deleting the game itself, leading to massive dissatisfaction on every social media in existence. And Valve will surely notice that, since they're Popularity-hungry and if ratings go below hell, Valve will broke(maybe not financially, but in the face of games that's for sure). Our Community can do nothing to deal with Bot Invasion ourselves, since we doesn't have the right to deal with it. But we can do some pressure on those who MUST do their job. Something I've personally said is that even if you don't like TF2, or Valve, I think it's important to band together on this. A crisis of bots this large is the kind of problem I think anyone would want fixed for their game. Think of your favourite game, in the whole world. Imagine if anytime you went to play the intended, regular mode for that game, there was a 99% chance multiple fake people were actively ruining it for you, and your ability to get rid of them was next to nothing. You would want other people to help, too. Even if they're not also fans of your game. That just makes sense. You would ask for help. So when other people are asking for help with one of THEIR favourite games, and all you have to do is sign a petition or make a tweet, I don't blame someone for not doing so, but I think they would understand the appreciation directed towards them for doing it anyways. Fix TF2.

I think the current best thing to do is leave a negative review: It worked well enough for the Helldivers players and it's exactly visible where it should be, Steam and it will be there pretty much forever. After that, just play on casual servers until you find one you like (like the old days) and stop buying things from the store. The other thing is to drop the game altogether but some people just won't do that, so point one is the best route currently. Will it do something? Probably not but it's a permanent stamp until something changes.
