Dimash absolutely blew me away with this one -- he's truly inhuman (get it?)! FYI I've fought tooth and nail with copyright (to the point of personally contacting the legal team), and I was able to get this obscured version up and monetized. HOWEVER, I will be sharing the non-obscured version to my Patreon community for those that are interested! I love and appreciate you all -- please enjoy this amazing music video from one of the world's greatest vocalists :]

I'm loving the pancake dealer t-shirt 🤣 Dimash was living in LA when he wrote both this and Smoke and was introduced to an American team by Walter Afanasieff when they were working on Love Is Not Over Yet. So the lyrics were written by an American lyricist. Personally although his English has improved drastically, I hope he never loses that accent, it's what makes him special. I've heard so many foreign singers adopt that fake American accent when singing and in my opinion it just makes them run of the mill and generic. He's been working on that lower range for the last couple of years. It's really deep and full and resonant now, he's also cutting out a lot of what's been referred to as his "circus tricks" which were so promoted by Igor Krutoy. Although he can obviously still hit those notes, now they're just little decorations amongst the wider dynamics of the song and he's exploring and mixing different genres. Dueting with Chante Moore, they did an epic cover of Teddy Swims Lose Control. Sung completely live on Singer 2024 they played off each other so well that I actually prefer their version and I'm not a lover of cover versions usually.

If Dimash only sang in languages he was "comfortable in" we wouldn't have a large chunk of his catalogue, considering he has either recorded and/or performed live in over a dozen languages! I think that's part of what makes Dimash excellent and incredibly unique; he wants to show the world that it doesn't matter where you are from or what languages you speak, music connects us all! For me, I love his accent and I wouldn't love his music nearly as much if he 'sounded American'. We have enough artists in the world who ditch their accents in their music to try and gain a broader market but it removes part of what makes them different from everything else out there Dimash will not sacrifice his identity to gain fans. It's part of what makes him who he is. He has a LOT of original work including many gorgeous songs in his native Kazakh. Many of them have music videos as well as live performances which you can find on his KZitem channel. His MVs always have high production value, I HIGHLY recommend them. The concepts in them are all his and they are just another way that he shows us how well-rounded he is as a multi-faceted artist. Great examples in Kazakh include "OMIR" (there's a beautiful MV as well as an acoustic version he played with his brother), "Qairan Elim", "Kieli Meken", "Akkuym", "Maxabbat ber Magan"... I really could go on and on! Definitely check them out! Love from Oregon!

Dimash is a genius! A great storyteller and paradigm breaker! Anyone who watched the video, made by a fan with his cell phone, of Dimash's show in Hong Kong, had the pleasure of a first contact with the song “When I've Got You” and realized, in Dimash's own music and in the lyrics by Candice Kelly and Dmytro Gordon, a romantic, seductive and passionate song sung with Dimash's own virtuosity. There was tension and anxiety in being able to watch the studio version with better sound quality... Now, with the release of this music video, we realize how creative Dimash is: A suspense video with a “noir” atmosphere, but without being located in the past, and a tale of passion about a supernatural creature who feels alone and needs to fulfill his passion for a mortal woman who suffers for wanting and not wanting turn her into one of his supernatural creatures. Iskander Yerbolat's plot intrigues us to solve the mystery of the entire tale being a dream of a journalist who interviews “DQ”, or being a reality where the “vampire” did not bite his “prey” out of love! Intriguing... The video is a show in itself: Desaturated with vivid red details (umbrella, blood in the hands, blood in the pool, advertising sign, neon on the mirror...), a classic Rolls Royce, a gloomy and modern mansion and lots of details. As background music, he uses the work “Flower Duet” (Lakimé) by Léo Delibes. To create an old and suspenseful atmosphere, he does not use the 1968 edition and recording, by Joan Sutherland and Jane Berbié, but rather the original version from 1915, sung by Alexandrovna Mikhailova and Ivanovna Panina, recorded with a gramophone! The music video is a story that pays homage to several classic dramas involving supernatural creatures and passion! The impeccable editing with precise cuts that complete the script, simple and extremely efficient effects and masterful performances: Dimash (the seductive and tormented vampire, Polina Guzieva (the passionate journalist), Manuel de Jesús Sánchez Sotolongo (the sinister butler) and the harem of soulless vampires (Angelin Sapozhnikova, Valeriya Lyasheva, Andreana Tkachenko, Maria Aristatarkhova, Lilia Kiser and Klinnyushina Alina), superb! The music is a show in itself: a mix of Blue, Scat, Jazz, R&B, Rock... Captivating variations: a bridge to the chorus full of strength and seduction and a beautiful chorus inspired by classic rock and dexterity and Dimash's agility! In addition to the well-placed guitar solo performed by Abik Jeksen! The video captures and captivates from the beginning to the sign, which we let pass while still mesmerized by the “spell” of the vampire who can break the fourth wall! A giant, masterful, modern work that makes you want to watch it several times! 1000 out of 10! Hugs from a Brazilian!

As can be seen in the newspaper headline, this is Dimash's take on interview with a vampire. Was it a dream? Was she on the way there or on the way back? The two largest world markets are the U.S. and China. Back in 2017 when Dimash was invited as a contestant in the "The Singer" show, the invite was as a wild card, those in charge thinking he wouldn't make it past the 3rd or 4th round. I believe he accepted the invite knowing how big the market is there. That said, he's long been aware that the U.S. would be the next step, and ever since then he's been working on his English. And, Dimash upped his game, now being able to sing in 14 languages, the latest being Lithuanian? Romanian? No.... those aren't it, but it's in a similar country.

Dimash's song choices are informed by his fanbase which is his niche market of millions across the globe. He knows a lot of them are english-speaking so it makes sense to sing this in English. Thank you, Peter, a very thorough and professional analysis as always. Yet I need to say this: The Chinese audience seems to be the only one who appreciate Dimash for the great performer he is without focusing on his Mandarin. Accepting it to such an extent that Dimash was awarded in a show dedicated to ancient Chinese poetry for his performance of one of their poetic gems Thousand Miles a Common Dream. Not only that, they continue to record him performing theme songs for Chinese movies, TV shows and video games. And that in itself says a lot. A very different approach compared to English speaking reactors who always find a way to dig into his accent even when his vocals and his music respect them with their originality. This snobbery, to put it mildly, really amazes me against the English we hear in modern pop music. For most of today's songs, we need subtitles to understand the lyrics. The “accent” is so thick that you can hardly call it English. Thank you again.

Great reaction!! Dimash composed the music and Candace Kelly wrote the lyrics. I think he's trying to appeal to the American market by creating more English-language songs. 🤗🎶💙

You really must react to The Story of One Sky MV! He took 3 years composing it, creating the story and recording the video. Dimash does things there that nobody, nobody can do! It is a Réquiem... please, react to it!!! Hug from Brazil!

Peter! You know Dimash can sing anything! He sang every single note of this song, from growl to stratosphere. More Dimash, please! He has a new song, Angel Love which is lovely. You might like it. You might also be impressed by Jacob Collier. Check out his Little Blue (Mahogany Session) and Moon River. Thanks, as always.❤

Yes, but the deep part consists of an octave interval. You need to record the second voice and layer it under or over the other. You cannot sing that live in two notes at the same time.

All Dimash doesn't mean they didn't layer vocals or he uses backingtracks. And you know what, this MV is probably lip synced too, not live!

Apart from the two extra bits this was not live at all, but playback, just as his on stage performance.

@@mmsminimalmusic3110so for rehearsals you just mime yes? What is the purpose of rehearsals if not to test the voice and mic for real? Wouldn’t you want to actually test your voice and the mic you’ll use if you were going to sing at that venue?
@mmsminimalmusic3110

@@Mona-c9f Normally, yes. But Dimash did not sing live at the venue, so the rehearsal was only about testing the playback technique and the atmosphere. He used playback both in Serbia and in Turkey.

👉 Dimash does it again and again. He surprises us every time. I love his versatility and creativity, his wonderful voice. It doesn't fit into any box and I love that. It never gets boring. I like the moment in the video when he smiles sensually cheeky at us, his dears, as if to say: 'Look at me and scream and rage.' I'm going to seduce this pretty blonde now... because I can! ' The two voices that come out of the scratchy gramophone are the original recordings of the LAKME flower duet from 1915 with two Russian sopranos (Maria Mikhailova (1864-1943) (soprano, interpreting Lakmé) and Antonina Panina (1870-1941) (mezzo-soprano, interpreting Mallika) - kzitem.info/news/bejne/mmeek4OVcWKLpG0 In the Dimash News it is written: On February 26, 2024 in Istanbul, Dimash Qudaibergen presented a music video for a new work “When I’ve got you”. The premiere took place as part of a press conference held by the artist in connection with his upcoming solo concert in Turkiye. The main idea of the clip belongs to Dimash and the MV’s director Galym Asylov: “A world-famous artist, who leads a very private lifestyle, decided to give his first open interview. The young journalist chosen by him goes to the meeting in great excitement, immensely worried and tormented by the question: “What if?…”. The woman’s vivid imagination suggests a mysterious image of the main character and plunges her into a mystical story. “Everyone knows that Dimash is a kind and simple person. Not much is known about his personal life, he does not often appear in the media space and does not give particularly personal interviews. We wanted to present the artist from a slightly different side, in a “book”, fictionalized image”, - shared the director. Galym Assylov and Zhanibek Gusmanov - the second director of the project and line producer say that the shooting process was very interesting, it took place in Almaty. A creative team of more than 70 people worked on the clip with the involvement of specialists from China. It was there that the costume of the main character was sewn and together with Kazakhstan specialists created the whole image of the artist. The casting was not simple enough: many actresses and models were tried for the role of the main character and other characters. Three locations were used in the clip, and the search for ancient culture was not an easy task. In a creative atmosphere, a large international team tried to create a mysterious story in every element of the interior, in every detail of the costume, in every frame. The composition itself was written by Dimash. The author of the lyrics was Candice Kelly. The co-writer of the lyrics, co-producer, orchestrator and arranger was Dmytro Gordon. “Working with Dimash is a dream for many, and I felt extremely honored and privileged that he has entrusted me to work on this song with him. It felt like a great responsibility, as “When I’ve Got You” was a step into a new direction for Dimash as an artist, and it was also something different for his core audience. Dimash told me that for some time, he wanted a track on the verge of blues, jazz, rock, and r&b, and my suggestion was to make it sound fresh and edgy - something raw but beautiful, something truly unexpected. That has resulted in a blend of some heavy drums, electric guitars and piano together with the orchestra, synthesizers, harmonica, and even a choir. We wanted the song to sound groovy, cinematic, epic, and bold. No holding back!,” shared Dmytro Gordon. (Dimash News) * The new video for the song “When I’ve got you” has gained more than 600 thousand views in a few days. Dimash said: “It is impossible to convey the emotions at the moment when you perform a new composition for the first time with words. I can probably only be understood by artists or composers, I can’t explain it in words right now. When I see the feedback, that’s probably the moment when I become one of the happiest people in the world. Because everything I do is only to please my audience”. Dimash Kudaibergen. Great reaction! Such versatility and vocal agility in this one. A shame you had technical issues. I've been having them trying to record stuff. I guess the advantages of modern tech outweigh the frustrations, but sometimes I wonder. You'll enjoy Dimash singing Lose Control with Chanté Moore, BTW.
