Good tips. Did you develop this content for a course you were planning to sell ? I think temperature control is one of the biggest challenges with van life. Especially with climate extremes. If it's really cold having the right sleeping bag, hat etc can keep you warm. Heat is a nearly insurmountable challenge. There's no way to get enough cooling from a realistic off grid setup. Trying to run AC overnight would need a massive investment in batteries, and then you have to recharge them the next day. A few solar panels on the roof of a van just wouldn't cut it. And running an inverter at close to its maximum output is going to generate a lot of heat.

Hi there! Yes, originally I planned to sell the course, but back in January as I was developing a launch plan, selling it just didn't feel right. So I decided to give it away instead so I could help more people. Thanks for watching!

Most people will need AC. The summers are ridiculous. HOT and HUMID... uncomfortable... sweaty... stinky... can't sleep... too hot! So how do you run AC in a camper van? Doesn't it have AC built in? How long can you idle with the engine/AC on? The new Fords with the Power Boost generators seem like awesome solutions. They can run for a week or so on a tank of gas!

It's too bad you didn't talk about all the options for 12v AC split systems. It makes the possibility of having AC with just your solar/battery electrical system realistic.

I did my best, but I couldn't possibly cover everything. If you know of any resources, please feel free to share :)

Tara Charney cruise n comfort has systems and is more geared to working with the end user. www.cruisencomfortusa.com For those that are knowledgeable about hvac, proair is another resource. www.proairllc.com These are 12v split systems where half the system is mounted underneath the van, so saves space inside the van as well as roof space. Dometic has some very low profile 24v rooftop systems ( dometic coolair rtx 2000 is one) geared towards the semi truck market, but I believe these aren’t offered in North America yet, so would have to be bought and shipped from overseas sellers, ie imported.

For AC I am going with the MINI-Split. they run about $700-$900 and work way better than a roof-top unit.

Leaky propane leads to... leaked propane... not carbon monoxide. I get your point. Just sayin
