Can you tell me, is there a way to verify that a used Lithium battery is in good condition? I know nothing about this other than what I'm learning on YT. Would you buy one from a private seller as on Craig's list? Or should I look elsewhere?

Very Nicely explained and great examples. I built my van out myself and am fairly technically inclined. I think for anyone looking to set up a van your video would b one of the best to watch to get an over all idea of how all these parts come together. For me the whole process was super fun. Nothing more rewarding than building it and then watching it all work and knowing it will because you calculated every amp and reasrched all possible ways of building it. Im running off 2 -6 volt golf carts and a VSR from my alt. I pwr a small 12v fridge and 2 diesel heaters and lites, maxxfan, tablet for movies, have a 1200watt inverter thats used rarely mostly for charging my pwr tool batteries or a vacum. My van is a Hvac service repair truck. But iv spent the night in it in MN winter and it is fun. I have the battery 🔋 monitor but have not finished the install of it yet. I was watchn as my 2 Duracell 6 volts seem to b loosing voltage (charge ) faster than last winter. I pwr the fridge 24/7 and use the other elec draws daily. My batts r on 3rd season. So I was tryn to c how long other peoples lasted. I think I meed to replace mine. Looks like u or 1 of the people in ur video have the same battery setup. For the money its hard to beat and does alot. I do recommend for cost vs 12 volts by far. 200amp hrs basically. Now u have me thinking about upgrading the house battery design! Lol. I'll prob watch ur video again just because it covers so many setups. GOOD luck to You!! Great Vids bro!!

Yes thats my deal tool battery i charge at work. Tablets can be charge with tool battery adapter. 12 volt cigarette lighter socket with usb adapter which will take upto 24 volts. Power my adaptive 20 volt fan. middle of the road setup. That can be charged rapidly. Better than power banks. But have a few of them also.

Hi there and I hope all is well. You said that the refrigerator should be directly linked to battery for efficiency. But looking at your diagram. And I could be wrong. It appears to be attached to the positive cut of switch wire. If thats so, who does that look. And what did u use to attach them. Thanks again Great video!!

All I mean is that the fridge should not go through your charge controller. Put in on the direct batter side of the diagram. Does that make sense?

Watched to the very end. :) Your diagrams had tv run off the 12v breaker box and you mentioned to look for as many 12v items as possible to save power and burden on the inverter. My question: do you know of a good source for where to find 12v items, such as tv, cooking, heating, coffee maker, etc.? Thank you!
@OutdoorsEmbrace
4 жыл бұрын
Well, there is a link to everything I used in my build in the description. You'll find the 12 volt TV link there. For everything else like heat, cooking, and coffee, that will be hard if not impossible to find 12 volt. Those are higher powered units. Pretty much anything that uses heat is higher power. You might need to get 120 volt for those things.
@OutdoorsEmbrace

I never recommend electric stoves. Always propane or alchohol stove. The electricity isn't used for long with an electric stove, but it's still a ton of power. Same goes for any heating element. Gas powered heating/cooking is the way to go in a van.
