thx for making this . I was looking forward to doing van life . But you woke me up to the harsh realities of it . I'm good at home lol .

All good 😁. Things are not as easy as they seem on Most Instagram channels. They are stinky, messy and mostly you have to have a good reason for doing it. Good thing would be to rent a van for a week or 2 and try it out. Because if you really want the comforts of what a home offers, you probably need to spend 100000 dollars on the van, which is already a price of a home in many places.

Yea, that might work. But one has to make sacrifices 😉. And for me the blissful taste of fried onions always tops the few minutes of wierd smells. Ohh and Richard, thank you for watching the video. People like you, who really take the time to watch the videos and get something useful back from watching them. Motivate me to create more content and make me feel that the days of work that go into making one 10 min video is not wasted in any way. Cheers!

Good video. Y’all need his and hers vans! Just a little note but you should turn off the music when you’re talking. It’s distracting and makes it hard to focus on your words.

Haha...I knew there were some reasons I was "going slow" on converting a van. Thanks for explaining it to me, your honesty verified what I was thinking...you saved me a lot of work lol. This is the best video I've seen on van conversions, really.
@WildVikingTravels

Cheers, I am happy it helped! Of course the van in this video is small and since I now have a high top van that I just finished converting, quite a few of the "problems" have disappeared, but this still is a lifestyle and no van is ever going to be as comfortable as a house or flat.

Most of the problems you bring up are not as a result of living in a van. The problem is: two people living in one van.
@WildVikingTravels

I do agree and some more problems could probably be solved by just getting a bit bigger van. But every scenario has its pros and cons. I lived in a van alone as well and trust me even this was not perfect. Most of van life in my opinion comes down to making the right sacrifices and making it work for yourself. And that was also the purpose of this video, to show people that might be thinking about moving into a van, that there's more to this lifestyle than beautiful sunsets and endless happiness 😊.

for what i heard, you just choose the wrong life style... and for many of the problem listed is just a matter of not having it installed (vents for the smell and condensation, repellent products to avoid insects) like the bathroom problem is just a firs world problem...like...

Great video you guys just need a bigger setup like a tiny motorhome with a dedicated bathroom and a little kitchen. Would help out a lot with your issues. Also screen door and windows would help with bugs. Oh and it looks like she farted again at the end of the video from the look on your face LOL>

Thanks! Yea, I totally agree bigger van would be way more comfortable. Since it is our first van, we didn't know quite well what we were getting ourselves into 😂. But in the future adventures we are planning to go with a bigger vehicle.

Sometimes I think that myself... But then again I am currently Bulgaria living in a van when it's - 5 degrees Celsius at night and someone just tried to break into the van while I was taking a short hike in nature. Ohh life is weird, but it's all about the choices we make.

Menna and Joe (I really hope I've spelt your names correctly), loved this again.... nice to see you both have moved into a much nicer van..... and Joe your humour is funny as. A lot of truth in this video though.... I have 2 teenagers who I have with me inside Feather (my van) every other weekend. Personal space is non existent however it's pretty cool also... we all know how to ignore the going to the loo and farty noises now (or sometimes we just giggle 😉😂). Stay blessed out there.

Hahh Yea, that's the van where it all began 😁. I must say it is way more comfortable in the Sprinter we have not and the small Kia that we had in New Zealand really helps us appreciate the new one 😂. What kind of van do you have yourself and for how long have you been doing full time van life?

@@WildVikingTravels yo yo good morning 😎 (rain here actually so I'll have to imagine I'm somewhere hot and sunny)... my ex and I sold our house back in very early September so with my share of the money I bought a fiat ducato globercar globescout 2017 (less than 20k on the clock) aka Feather. Loving it so far but not being able to see my forest family is a bit poo, prelockdown I would be camping in the woods at least twice a month at my old headquarters with my mootie/forest tribe. I really take my hats off to folks like you who do the converstions yourself. I may had done this previously and saved a lot of money but kinda really had to buy one already done up out of necessity for work and accomodation. All that said though, love it.

Yea, that is a good idea to get a van with as few faults as possible, when your home breaks down in the middle of the road, that is a problem 😁. So this time we tried to do the same. There has been small things but overall no big mechanical errors so far. 🤞🤞🍀😁
