I did the same thing with my shower my outdoor shower will fill a tank which is insulated then I can close the back doors and that tank will stay hot for well over a hour. So I can shower in side with the back doors closed, I did it this way to have two sowers one inside and one out side for the dog. So it just works like a thermos flask with a little pump that pull out the hot water.

Love the mirror/table!! I think I’ll be doing our water fill up the same as you. I do it this way now for the tank in my pick up truck which feeds automatic fill up water bowls for the dogs. Works just fine. I do have a small cheap pump in it as well to wash of our dogs and my dirty boots but it doubles in case of emergency to fill the water tank. I can just take the tube out of the water tank and put into bottle of water then connect the pump outlet to the tank hose inlet and fill the tank. Simples and no holes!!

No need to go back in time with your roof vent. Just add an appropriate sized computer fan that fits the vent to get your air extraction for very cheap compared to maxx air and fan tactic vent fans and it also runs off 12v.
@tonytca9439
4 жыл бұрын
Or fit a 12v car radiator fan on remote speed controller. I can go from a quite trickle to hurricane force wind to cool a hot van in 2 mins and it only cost £40 with remote fitted into standard 40 frame skylight. I refused to pay hundreds for a MaxAir Fan. Those all break eventually from PCB failures to broken pop open gear mechanisms.

With that roof vent without a fan, you can buy 230mm PC fans for very cheap and they're super quiet. Mount one up there somehow. You can build them into a wooden frame that slots up there when you need the fan. Nowhere near as much airflow as a max fan, around 1/8th of the air flow, but decent for removing moisture from the air and creating some slight circulation

Its only a 15mm hole to fill up from under the van with standard hose connector on copper pipe. Plus an overflow that's how I did mine. Got the same propane water heater installed it side of shower cubicle under kitchen cupboard and pokes out of worktop fully piped in to sink and shower. That tiny little camping gas you got will probably last for 2 quick showers:)
@HughTube
4 жыл бұрын
Aren't those water heaters only meant to be used outside? Is yours vented?
@tonytca9439
4 жыл бұрын
@@HughTube it's best too but the label on the front says use in a well ventilated room. Well that's easy just open the roof vent and turn the fan on. The gas used is little more than running 2 gas rings plus a gas oven if you had one and they vent into the van. It's also on for just a few minutes for a shower and your co detector will warn of it's getting unsafe. Years ago caravans used unvented gas fires that were left on all night! And no one had co detectors back then. Need to use some common sense and have plenty of air.

I put 2 x105h batteries below the front seat and on the left side bulkhead (on the living quarters side), i put a reasonably flat wall electrical panel containing a 30A solar charge controller, a main switch supplying the fuse box, 2 x watt meters (in from solar/out to fuse box) & and I put a 340watt solar panel on the roof. I placed the fuse box behind the driver seat against the bulkhead (cab side), then ran the wires to the back from there.....that electrical box is taking up lot of floor space.

Boxer / JUMPER / Ducato I think are all the Sevel made van! Interesting idea to keep the bulkhead, makes it warmer too and less condensation in the cab for cold mornings. I like the whole design ... .. except the lack of toilet! I think I would miss that. I wonder if there is a way to add hot-water via the cooker? Congrats on proper bed slats, so rare in DIY, but so essential. No stereo though? I think I'd add one in the back somewhere! Very impressed with the mirror table, that is inspired!!!
@HughTube
4 жыл бұрын
haha yeah a few people asked this! I didn't include it in the video as I had cleared out the van but we have a portable camping loo. For hot water with the exhaust out pipe from the cooker you could wrap copper tubing around it and have each end go passively into an insulated hot water tank (which would have to be vented). When you use the heater/cooker it would then heat the water but the problem would be how you could stop it over heating the water and turning the tank into a kettle. For music we just use a portable bluetooth speaker, they get plenty loud enough inside the van
