8:35 During the Lab Quest you have a chance to to find superior versions of all booster that are not craftable. Including one that is an combination of all booster, using it is the only way to get an draftable and fertile hybrid. I used it to make an Legendary thrumbo-muffalo hybrid, that was otherwise unable to be trained and used for combat.
@planetfall5056

Ahh that reminded me of my Thrumbo/Dark Young hybrid (Genetic rim is compatible with Call of Cthulhu!) Splinter (Colony leader) charging in on the back of the giant tentacle monstrosity scything through raiders like butter with its horn, ahh memories. That playthrough was 4 years ago and still my favorite. Luddite rebels fleeing from an authoritarian Techno state to the frozen darkside of their tidally locked world. Abhorrent monsters stalking the frozen darkness.

Yeah i made a legendary thrumbo-insect with the mechanite booster and that thing is insane in combat , I send it to take care of infestations by itself.

A few days ago they added the More Lab Stuff companion mod to VE Genetics that adds an implant that allows you to add draftability to any animal, haven't had time to test it yet but you should be able to use the existing boosters to create a fertile hybrid then use the implant to make it draftable without needing needing to find one of these.

I wonder if it's any different from the original, that one was basically untouchable, did massive damage, was draftable, and had a satellite beam targeter inside its body that could be used on a cooldown. It was basically a win condition since even the empire can't make it through its armor.

Oh my dear, let me tell you a story. I was once on a mission in such an abandoned lab. My pawn and his trusted shotgun, hunting crimes against nature. During a search of one of the bigger rooms, I was doors opening on the other side. I thought "brace yourself" as I've set my pawn's shotgun on 3-short burst fire. What came through those doors was a hybrid of thrumbo and lizard. I was ready for an epic battle...and then it breathed fire on me. I've killed it eventually and decided that I want such a thing for myself. I would love to see Archocentipede video.

The Thrumblizard is probably one of the most terrifying animals I've ever seen in this game. I eventually got one, after a losing a colonist to 4 angry Thrumbos (RIP Mint Julip, the colony will miss it's only artist). All Fiona needs to do is sit in a reinforced bunker next to my killbox and breathe those toxic flames. Fuckin' easy mode. Even if they break down the wall, what are they going to to? She's a Godzilla

Thank you so much for this video, I was convinced mechahybrids weren't in the mod anymore because I couldn't for the life of me figure out how to get them. I'm definitely going to go make a mechathrumbo now! I'd just like to give you a tip: In this video you show yourself manually picking up items from the abandoned research labs, and you don't have to do that. Once you've dealt with the hostile hybrids on the map, you can go to the world map and reform your caravan, and choose everything you want to bring with you. Your pawns will scoop up all the items you tick instantly and start their journey back home. You don't even have to manually uninstall the buildings, you can just tick them as well!

15:20 It's also worth mentioning the Dinosauria mod is compatible, but lacks a DinoParagon and a few hybrids with other species. I'm not mad though, the built-in integration is fantastic. Also my most repugnant monster HAS to be my Humanoid Paragon, named ParaGrodd. Poor orangutan man gets his own personal suite in my laboratory, where he spams the Research Drive whenever it's off cooldown to speed up my research dramatically. Shame he can't get a Circadian Half-cycler or other bionic mods that reduce his sleep/food needs, or else he might be able to help out my Night Owl researcher too...

What an amazing tutorial. I saw the release of the mod on reddit but was vastly intimidated by the whole scale of it, but this video makes me wanna give it a shot. A few questions if you don't mind: Did I see that right, mechanised hybrids won't catch a terminal illness after x years? Also, will offspring of hybrids (assuming you use the proper booster to allow them to reproduce) also suffer from the inevitable illness after x years?
@Jadziax
2 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much! As for the mech hybrids, correct, they won't get diseases. As for your second question...that one is excellent and I don't know yet, I'll have to test that out! I would assume they would get the same diseases at a rate based on their quality... and I'd assume their quality is a combo of their parents' qualities. Looking forward to finding that out!
