Very objective voting, well done. If you decided to spend your summer in the Greek mountains, then your first choice should be Epirus. If you go there you will never want to leave. The wildest mountains, the cleanest - and coldest - rivers in Europe, Very beautiful stone villages and old stone bridges, also very nice beaches (Sivota, Parga), ancient Dodoni, Drakolimni, lake of Aoos river, Ovires kolybythres near Papingo , the deepest canyon in the world (Vikos canyon) and so much more that you will discover on your own.

Good info about both countries. Your perspective matters because you're there, on the ground, living the vanlife and doing so on a budget. What you said about travelling in Spain vs being at home in Greece hit me in the feels. Greece is the word! 😊🫡🚚

Both are lovely countries, but Greece for me has no competition for various reasons, like food, people, hospitality, nature, etc,etc. But I want to highlight just one important thing to my heart. Greece is landscape wise generally far more spectacular. Greece's landscapes are everywhere wild, extremely varied. And it's very easy to know this. When just paying a good attention to Google Earth in 3D and you fly around each of these countries a couple of times in overflight, you will notice that Spain has mountain range in the north (Pyrenees), then Pico 'd Europa, and 1 big mountain close to Malaga and 3 in the whole interior of Spain. But the vast majority of Spain is 1 big dull landmass which over many hundreds of km are lightly changeable, flat and light hilly. Most areas in spain it's terrains are only very midly alternating. If you don't trust me. Don't use google maps but google earth and with your mouse cursor try all around Spain and you will know. I have picked a thousand places in Spain to know what I mean. But Greece is 80% mountains snowcapped, crazy geography and topography. And with it specacular landscapes all around. One who travels around Greece anywhere in any corner, you will be in many different worlds on a single day. Even within a single hour it changes so much. It amazes the travelers every single time. Also. A simple example of Greece's crazy geography. What happens if you are on Spain on it's coastline and looking out to the sea? You see nothing but sea in 95%+ of the cases in Spain. Because Spain is 1 big round-ish landmass. But when you are in Greece on pretty much any coast you will see endless layers of mountains, other parts of the mainland and islands till the horizon. EVERY view different. Because of the extremely heavy indentation of Greece, or the big inner bodies of Greece like Ambracian gulf or Corinthian gulf, or the big claws of Peloponnese or Halkidiki and so on and so on, plus the endless islands dotted till the horizon. This is simply one of so many example why Greece in it's nature is unmatched. And then purposefully I haven't mentioned Greece's 6000 islands which can be of any type and diversity also. From geological paradises like Milos, to the largest Sea caldera on earth like Santorini or Nissyros, or virgin forested islands like Skopelos, or a small desert on Limnos, or medieval islands like Rhodos, or islands that are called "the small continent" like Crete as Crete has everything a continent has with snowcapped mountains till the only natural palm forests in Europe. Or one of the largest pumice sources on earth the island of Gyali. And everything else inbetween. Greece's islands and it's mainland filled with immense amount of mountains and stunning landscapes is what makes Greece a nature's paradise. As I get from your own video, you have only scratched the surface of the mountains of Greece as you only started. But trust me. If you visit 1001 mountain areas in Greece, you will know what I mean. I can even make recommendations. but anyway. Enjoy your traveling

We talked about your comment and now when we have travelled more in mountain area we totally get your point. Spain mountains are just hills and all the diversity is missing. In Greece you can see beatiful pruce forest and plains in same day.

@@Vantasticvan Lovely. That is amazing. Where in Greece did you go? Some tips are mount Olympus, Acheloos valley, Tzoumerka mountains, wider pindus mountains, Tymfi mountain, Vikos Gorge, Aoos Gorge, mount Grammos, Pindus national park, Agrafa mountains, Kremasta lake, parnassos mountain, Giona mountain, Vardousia mountain. Prespes lakes and mountain scenery. Agrafa mountains, Evrytania, mount Tymfristos, Karpenisi-Proussos. Lake kerkini with mountains around. Athos holy mountain which.is the only nonastic state in the world. Although women may not enter, but you can do a boat trip around. Rhodope muntains, Fakakro mountain. Arcadia mountains, helmos, Aroania, Taygetos mountain, etc etc. And these are a bunch of named mountains or mountain regions on the mainland. These areas combined would totally convince you how mountainous and wild Greece is. Crete also has 5 mountain ranges rising straught from the sea 2500m. Mount Olympus also. It rises an immediate 3000m. Very prominent Greece has 20% of all Europes Ultra peak mountains. Which means mountains that rise atleast 1500m above its lowest surrounding point. In Greece all mountains start from the sea. But in many counties mountains do not start from the sea but are still measure from sealevel. So. You can be in central Asia and you see a mountain being 3500m on the map. But you are on one big flat massive plateau as flat as Netherlands but then on 2200m. Then you stand in front of the mountain and think: what? How is this 3300m? It isnt. The real mountain height is 3300-2200 =1100 meters. Same in Alps. You have plenty mountains of 3000m. But the valleys and lowest surrounding points are at 800m, 600m, 1200m, 1500m. So. You can be in the Alps and see a mountain risingn 3600m and the valley lies at 1350m. Then the real mountain height is 2250m. Which is still prominent. But its not 3600m. Why do you think Mount Everest basecamp lies at 5300 and on other side at 5500m? Why not 0. Because there is none. When you arrive at 5500m the mount everest will go till 8848m. Which means 3300m real height. So. From this perspective. When you now see many mountains in Greece rising easily 2000m, 2500m, 3000m from the sea then its a real 2000, 2500, 3000 meters. And so. Now to finish it. Greece has therefor 20% of all of Europes Ultra peak mountains. Spain has 4 Ultra's on mainland while the land is one ofnthe largest mass in Europe. Switzerland 8 Ultras. Croatia 0. Austria 12. Greece has 19. Then you know Greece is really a mountain nation surrounded by the sea

Very interesting views as Greek I now want to travel Spain ! some comments Drivers : Athens is killing us traffic is crazy . I agree with you views for countryside. Toll prices , damaged roads and all. Prices : They are killing us ! Also toursim will sufffer this summer it's not fun if gyros souvlaki is at 4e Drinks : We love our Greek wines BUT yes they are not out there as there is not enough volume .No way for lidl to get good greek wines as the production on a wine maker will not be eough even for 1/3 of the stores.. Nemea region stop at Papaioannou winery and get even the cheapest bottle ( half price from the stores) . North Greece Naousa region xynomauro variety etc. Same for beers ! there are Greek IPA's ( Strange Brew Jasmine my fave) good luck finding them . KYKAO is outside of Patras , if you pass from Leonidio the climbers coop store has some in stock from what I remember. None of these are in big super markers. For mainland it's not ouzo but tsipouro usaly bought from the "guy" ... I get mine from my local small groccey store no label (...no tax) . Have fun and I'd say go north for summer

Do you drink it with anything or as it is? Thank you for the insights, its really interesting to hear it from you. We are slowly travelling to north, lets see where we end up.

And which country has the better olive oil? Where do you buy it in Greek and what is the price for it?
@Vantasticvan

Greece has better olive oil. Terra Creta is our favourite brand, because their products are bird friendly and traceable. Greek organic extra virgin olive oil costs from 10 euros up to 30 euros per liter.

Adoben premiere pro osaa automaattisesti tehdä englanninkieliset tekstitykset SRT muodossa äänen perusteella, nämä käymme manuaalisesti läpi Subtitle edit ohjelmassa. Tämän jälkeen käännämme ne suomeksi DeepL ohjelmalla. KZitemen lisäämme ne tuossa SRT muodossa.
