Sweet baby jesus! That looked fun but rough. Nicely done man, and I agree with some other commenter on the bar. I would never dare to put such a big bar on a 7 in those winds.

Can you explain to me, what the problem is with a big bar (in such winds)? Is a larger bar more likely to entangle and such?

@@blubb9004 it’s not the entanglement. But the steering input it delivers. A 50 cm bar delivers 25% more steering input than a 40cm one. And a 7m turns fast.

You're lucky to have a nice flat beach. On the Gold Coast when a storm like that rolls past the waves are 5-6 metres high and just crashing nto the shoreline. Take balls and fitness to get out there.
