[sarcasm] It’s great to see the effort and money the police spent on Joe’s case! Goes nicely in hand with the met police’s own video I saw the other day where a lad stole a moped, raced through London (evading the police) then dumped the bike, they gave chase & he threw a knife (which was a 2ft long combat knife btw) they caught him and he got... a community order and a £100 fine. Don’t even get me started on the 2 times I’ve been robbed and had zero police help/assistance. Best I got was a police call centre and a week of waiting before I was told they weren’t willing to look into it despite a description & the twat using my card all over London where he’d have been on cctv everywhere.

Errr. actually (from a physics and cognitive point of view) speed in fact does kill more effectively than any other factor in an accident. Accidents will happen regardless, but excessive speed makes things worse in 2 major ways. 1) Humans don't have a speed radar built in, so with (usually quite quick) head check , there is no way to tell if a driver is doing (for example) 150% or more of the normal speed for that particular road - he/she expects that you are doing the speed everyone should be doing on that road and acts accordingly (we can can only judge speeds we are used to), and 2) speed is BY FAR the biggest determining factor in the energy released in a collision ...remember E=MC^2? well basically Kinetic energy (released) = 0.5M(mass) x V(velocity)^2 ..ie., double the speed and you quadruple the energy released on impact. Keep racing for the track - people's right to be safe far outweighs an individual's right to compensate for their small appendage size. PLUS .. as always, it's numb-nutted idiotic few that ruin it for everyone else ..10% over has always been sacred safe ground, but it's the idiots who do 2 or 3 times the limit that cause the law makers to clamp down on EVERYONE ...in VIC (AU) they now give 3km over the limit before issuing tickets.
@ciraloke
4 жыл бұрын
..and they spent all that money so that anyone else thinks twice about speeding in their vlog/youtube channel ...now you're both saying you won't do it anymore ..so it worked - money well spent - and I for one think this is EXACTLY how public money should be spent - for the well being and safety of the GENERAL public. PLUS... you've just spread the message to 173K subscribers ...👍

I moved to Aus in 2012. Trust me stop whining, UK is heaven to ride compared to Aus. I landed 5 speeding tickets one month after buying a little 250 and slowing right down after advice from peers but still got 5 tickets. They hide all of their cams in bushes, and they are everywhere and all mobile with zero signage. Cops are actively out only looking to catch people that speed, does not matter if 5km/h over they will fine you, zero discretion!. It is horrendous in Aus. I now ensure I come back to the UK/Europe every year just to get my riding fix in. I leave my R1 and TL in Italy and ride through Europe/UK.

Watching you two is like looking at modern art; love it / tilts the head. I suspect that some of the schoolboy laddish stuff is intentional as that appeals to your target audience, which I'm probably, admittedly, now on the fringe in my mid 40s.. However, I am a biker, owning from S1000RR, 7X-7R to ST1100, VFR800Fi and many in-between, so understand the score. Although competent on road and mid group on a track day, I know my limits - love and appreciate your skill on track - but would ask you reconsider your influence; the stuff about speed not killing I don't agree with. It definitely does contribute: other people on the road - (bell-ends etc. as you refer to them) often innocently miss motorbikes and this is especially true when bikers are riding 'quickly'. On the same point, whilst you are both obviously very capable and skilled riders, others that maybe influenced by you who aren't so much.. whilst I think you're wise enough to not show video of this kind, some of your comments can be as influential in setting people's mindset when they put their lids on.

Hi guys, the very first paragraph of the police Road Craft manual states that......excessive speed in itself is not dangerous, but it’s the ability of the person speeding that will be called into question, the Road Craft manual is the bible by which all police drivers are trained to by completing their six week driving course. I completed the Ambulance Service’s version of it as a two week course and we used the Police Road Craft manual as well.

This is how I see it, really simple 1. You can listen to a bunch of guys on forums and Facebook pages, none of which know fuck all about the bike because they didn’t make it 2. Or you can listen to the team of engineers that spend a lot of pennies on research and development to tell you how to break in your new motorcycle Sure Rich from down the pub might have thrashed his brand new RSV4 for the first 1000 miles and it was fine 20,000 miles later, doesn’t mean you should listen to him

Addressing what you mention about modern naked bikes, I'm COMPLETELY satisfied with my '15 KTM 1290 SDR (w/ PCV and throttle module and Rottweiler air box). It puts down 163HP and 103 ft lbs of torque at the rear wheel, handles like a dream on the street and literally has more power than anyone can really handle. The new Ducati V4 Streetfighter is tempting, but it better be perfect to compete

It’s absolutely disgraceful the way he’s being treated by his employer - the police for God’s sake! He’s had to change the whole purpose, point and content of his channel which is aimed at encouraging riders to put safety first while enjoying themselves. (Live Your Life). And a fantastic bloke too! What is the world coming to? Anyway chaps, enough of my rant, but I really enjoyed yours - I think you two would be great drinking buddies!, AND please don’t get me going on how the far left is taking over the extinction rebellion - they give us professional environmentalists a bad name! The problem with modern motorcycles are all the bells and whistles. As a commuter why do I need corning abs or wheelie control. OO and those damn rider modes, If you can't control your bike's throttle input then you shouldn't own that bike. Now my 17 Street triple R is nice and simple. It has abs, fully adjustable suspension, and easy gauge cluster with analog tac and digital speedo with a everything you need on it. A clock , fuel gauge, temp gauge, and hell theirs even a lap timer so if you do a track day. But like i said motorcycles in my mind should be MOTORcycles not computers.

Lots of motorcycle commuters in London have zero interest in motorbikes-it's just a way to get to work. Just as the vast majority of train commuters have no interest in trains. It's just an (expensive) way to get into work. Two strokes are terrible polluters (and that comes from me currently owning two of them). If two strokes weren't polluting, they would still be manafactured. Did you steal those sunglasses off of a bird on Love Island?
