Have seen many are arguing about :"own money own wish"theory. Yes we should agree but not for all purpose. Whatever we do publicly;that has an impact on the public. This type of new practices teaches the new generation about dreaming this way. Nowadays children have started expecting more and more from childhood only and leading to depression;insecurity and low self esteem among middle class people. So if we think we have some responsibility towards the society then we have to think from these point of views. Otherwise everyone has right to "just live for the self and don't think about contribution to the humanity". It's our choice. We change;the world changes.

A saree ceremony is celebrated after a girl menstruates for the first time, i.e. gets her first period. It is considered as a milestone in a girl's life as she becomes a lady. It is also called a saree ceremony because, during this ceremony, the girl wears a saree for the first time.

This ceremony is done among Assamese community people also. We call it Tuloni Biya. But, we Assamese Brahmins inform about the girl's menarche ( first period) only to our family members and close freinds. So, we do the rituals that are needed to do. Sometimes the girl may need to do fasting. But, the non Brahmins they throw a party to all the people in their village and they celebrate it nicely.

These people don’t know what to do with their money. For inviting people and feeding food you don’t all this lavish spending. Complete show off and waste of money. person who earned the money has every right to use it the way they want.... for the person who cannot afford cycle...cycle is a luxury, who cannot afford to buy a car...that looks luxury and lavish...that doesn't mean u should stick to walking all ur life.... every person has different dreams, different ways of spending...just that one cannot afford doesn't mean the other shouldn't spend their life lavishly...after all it's their hard earned money....

@@kusumathammini4814 yes- plz soak yourself in utter materialistic pursuits and happiness and show your kids the same path. As long as people don’t know the difference between personal enjoyment and wastage. We are previleged to earn lots of money only because we can help the underprivileged people in large ways… if that’s not understood and we spend all for ourselves thinking it’s my money and I spend however….. one day we will taste the bitterness. It will be too late by then. We have to understand we are not just our family … we are a part of a large human race. We have the responsibly to share our talents, excess wealth and food etc for a larger cause always !! Having money is not special, knowing how to use it is the point.

Let people who have money spend it this way, think of the amount of employment created, for this function 100's of people would have worked in the background... People who have money and just give donations is not a good idea as that money may be used for some wrong purpose,... When you make a living out of the money you earned has a different feeling than living on a money that was donated.

@@trueindian3073 think from a higher / larger view point. I didn’t talk about donations here. Your idea of employment for this event is very shallow. Everyone will personally know someone who is struggling to get education or struggling to get a job, or even set up a small business for living.. we can personally help such people quietly. No need for others to know you are helping someone. Or we can help poor girls known to you get married….. such a spending and living will not only get you good wishes but aloe your children will know how to live life in the right way. When you Uplift someone’s life they will keep blessing you for the rest of their life. Whereas the people who worked for that event will only look at your rich way living and feel more depressed that they can’t have a life like you do creating so much anxiety. They will also think wish I can wear such expensive clothes etc inspiring them to compare and focus on such shallow aspirations. In the end you will get only comparison and jealousy not blessings. All the people who come and give blessings for your daughters come onky because of your money and status. They will eat, enjoy bless and forget it. But if you find truly deserving people and help them it goes a long way for your and your children. Can’t make you understand beyond these words.

Not really. There are so many Indian states who celebrates the first menstruation of the girl. Somewhere this ceremony is called Thirandu Kalnyanam, somewhere Manjal Nerettu, or RajaPrabaha or Tuloni biya. All these ceremonies in earlier days was a kind of announcement that the girl has hit her puberty and now she is marriageble. Mostly non Brahmin families include people outside of their family, whereas brahmins include only their close relatives in such ceremonies. As the girl in this ceremony for the first time wears saree or mekhla in her life, it is also called Saree Ceremony in English
