I really appreciate the honest and independent review. All of these things, no matter how little, are relevant to *someone* . Very helpful! Additionally, the salesman told me that you can only use the "slow" charger at your home (the one that takes 7 hours), and if you want to own a faster charger, you have to order it specific from the factory *with* the car you buy on an order from the factory. The fast home charging is a little confusing.

Everyone should ignore his claim of 130-140 miles, as this is dependant on the driver and the road. I've easily gotten 230 miles out of this vehicle.
@TotallyEV
3 жыл бұрын
All tests are conducted in the same way under the same testing methodology. The driving range is tested across different roads, while driving normally (with the AC on for example). If you're achieving 230 miles in the Corsa-e - surpassing even the manufacturer's claim of 209 miles - you'll therefore get more mileage from the likes of the VW ID.3. If what you're saying is true, you should expect north of 300 miles in the ID.3. Of course, it's all relative, but for our comparison and testing which we feel is accurate for a large pool of drivers, the Corsa-e sits at the 130/140-mile mark.

@@SteffanHarries Honestly the outside temperature doesn't effect it by much. All results are skewed because during winter conditions the AC is working harder to keep it warm. I've still easily managed 200 miles by turning the AC off.

Out of all the EVs I test drove, the Corsa was the best choice. The price is really, really good for what you are getting. I don't get all the complaints about the interior being bland- it is absolutely fine and what a car should look like. Also, a lot of people are complaining about cargo volume and space. This is a rather compact car and if you constantly need to drive around with 4 adults and luggage, a car from this segment is certainly not for you.

A good and fair review overall IMO. I have owned mine since January so only winter driving so far and the range I get matches this review. Glad you liked the review Mike! As for the climate, indeed it can affect range, but know that a few of its competitors were also tested in colder climates; the figures attained and the ones that we compared were all tested (and not quoted) figures; hope that clears up the confusion?

I like the look of the Corsa, I'm old so don't really understand all the technology, so for me, it's fine and practical, the price, lack of range and poor regenerative braking are the downsides that would put me off buying, I need range due to not being able to have a home chargepoint and lack of infrastructure in this area, I have a 70 mile daily commute so would like something I could get away with charging in an ideal world, once a week

I’ve been driving this car for 3 months now on lease from Vanarama and I am enjoying it. However, I have found that the steering feels like it wants to take the car to the right sometimes and it feels like it drags more thsn when I first drove it. It’s only got 800 miles on the clock and I wondered if anyone else driving it had felt this happen. I mostly drive in country lanes because I live in Glastonbury and the electrical safe assist that adjusts the car if it feels the car is skidding is very weird. It feels like the steering wheel is being taken away from your hands when driving. I do turn this off but it seems to engage again anytime I go over a slightly bumpy road which Is annoying. Has anyone found this?

It is worth saying that in ECO it is 80 ps or so and in normal it is 110ps or so and on full acceleration you get the 136ps. The top speed of 93 can be done in ECO. The 200 miles plus can be done on roads where you are getting regen. Not on 60-70 mph drives with no regen, then remember driving with just a driver is not real world unless that is how you drive. Really 400 kg weights should be in the cabin and boot and see the range. That should apply to all EV tests.

@@TotallyEV Do you actually drive the EV's at revenue / max gross weight and check the range of vehicles in colder and warmer ambient temps, or just do what you can when you can. Also do you check tyre pressures of the cars being tested since many Demonstrators / Media cars are handed over with over inflated tyres.
@TotallyEV
3 жыл бұрын
All vehicles are tested in the same way; single occupant with little luggage at the rear. Tyre pressures are checked beforehand too. If we cannot check them (if the system doesn't support it), we'll ask the manufacturer and/or manually check the pressure is correct. This was the case when we reviewed an electric bike, as we noticed it was quite stiff when riding; we ended up changing the tyre pressures as a result, which sat in-line with the recommended tyre pressures from the manufacturer. Hope this helps.

HI I have a Corsa e sri model with all the electric tech available and it is trying to be way to smart for it's own good!!!!! Cameras, A/C, Heated seats and steering wheel, auto everything inc wingmirrors, S.O.S buttons, complete WIFI connectivity, wireless charging, and the best set of head lights I have ever seen and used on any car!!!! and the b mode in eco is very harsh on braking/regen if you let completely off but if you just reduce the weight in your toes it slows down perfectly without using brakes until stopping!!. And also the range is brilliant it's either 25% regen via D mode or 66% regen via B mode and the eco setting is good, The millage actually goes up quite a lot over time, The most zapping items are the a/c, sat nav, and windscreen defrosts i have lost 30 miles range with a/c on, not in eco and big screen running. I can do regular 165miles a week and only charge the once although it is terrible it does not leave it where you left it pressing 1 button in not a hassle and watch the a/c has a mind of it's own and if you accept it will always be in "NORMAL" mode then 140mile is good. I have really run it down too 14 miles left and it really impressed me on the regen cycle from 40/50 mile left range it just kept refilling it's self every time around the 36-38 mile mark very good is a bit heavy and the electric power steering is weird on the motorways but you don't seem to mention very much of any of this!!!!. That tells me you have not lived with it every day and the pod point app for at least 6-9 months yet!!! the car is very good but not without it's flaws and the price reflects the business decision to hold back on EV Vehicles till all the other crap is away!!!!! 30K...... whole chassis is 12K max now!! so time will tell but rang is very good when driven correctly!!! all the best.

Put 5 occupants in that are full grown adults with 2 legs each. Try an adult passenger behind an adult driver more than 5ft 10" maybe. Try 2 child seats and a booster seat for 3 young children in the rear or 1 child seat in the front and an adult and 2 children in the rear and then go for a 150-200 mile drive. Then tell us how comfortable the car is with 5 people. Do not put the car in ECO or the windows will be all steamed up even with 2 or 3 in the car, same as the other PSA EV's , Peugeot, Citroen / DS.
