Good evening Martin. Just stopped by before heading out for a while to say hello. I am looking forward to following up and checking out your additional finds. Hope you guys are starting to get some spring weather. I am stoked that the winter is now official over~ Rob/Boston Comment one of a few~

Hey Rob. Spring is here though still a cold wind. You do know us Brits are talking about weather alot right because it's so varied here though never that extreme? Small talk in the silent gaps of conversations that can be how it's done. Have you been listening to much new or interesting lately? And is that in line with seasonal adjustments (obviously no reason why Beach Boys wouldn't work on Christmas day).

I need to sort the car boot boxes in my garage. That normally means I'll pull some records back into the collection, only to get rid of them again later. I've also started creating a box of record fair worthy records so maybe I'll get round to selling at a fair in the next year or so. You've reminded me I have a bird sounds CD somewhere.

The tuff little unit twelve is cool, bleepy heaven lol. The early Autechre twelves on Warp are great. I think I have every Warp 12" up to around 1994 and then slowed down on the DJing gigs so became a little more discerning.

Ah bleep city over did it? I think towards late 90s with UK dance and genres evolving I went off it a bit too. You've gotta be dedicated to stay with same alternative music throughout your life. By then I'd dropped out into Brit pop I guess and disliked drum and bass (or as I distainfully referred to it 'D 'n' B', only now I don't mind it. I was never a DJ so couldn't beatmatch and I have only gotten into sampling the last decade (albeit with slightly out of date equipment).

It has been windy here too Martin. Yesterday we received just under two inches of rain. Crazy. We had our mellowist winter ever this year. Last year too. I really enjoyed that Kid Kaola mix. Smooth mix and catchy. I do not hear many Cantonese lyrics. I loved Pleasuredome. One of the coolest releases of 84. Can you tell me the name of the record that you showed at the 10:14 mark? I did not get the whole name of it. I checked out some of Amersham. Looks like a beautiful city. I love the UK. Especially the folks in the VC that I have got to know over the years. Thanks Martin. That was another variety enjoyable update~ Rob/Boston

I almost bought a copy of that Plastic Bertrand LP a while back, but the reviews I read while in the store convinced me to save my money. It seems that I made the correct decision!

It's not good stick with the hit single he didn't sing on...... Alot of my buys are £1 and I enjoy the challenge more even if some are truly dreadful I'm less dictated to what I buy and lower expectations. Sometimes a £1 buy will turn up a healthy profit too 😊

I still like that Madison Avenue song! That Bizarre Inc song is pretty good too. Have a great week, Jarkko/MyVinylBar

I miss the 1990s. It was the last physical pre digital decade. It made new music far more difficult to find 😞 and I relate it like the 80s i guess to growing up. I think this is a part of it.

Ha! Glad you weren't cut off this time. That Shantel album reminds me of the kind of European sophistipop records I see when I'm trawling Amazon for cheapo records.

You mean sophistislop or.... crap? I'm still undecided. European smocktail bar definitely not pub jukebox. I still can't find the cheapo amazons it's beyond me which puts my scavenger status in doubt......

The only Polish record I have is also on Musa, so I guess it might be a major label. I remember Plastic Bertrand appearing on Eurovision. I asked my sister what the French lyrics meant and she said they don’t make much sense. Have you listened to Rodney Rude yet?

Hi John. I've quite a few bits from Poland including the Gorecki Symphony no.3 laterly Beth Gibbons from Portishead has a go at it. Breakout are a Polish led zeppelin with a sax player well worth a try. It appears that Plastic Bertrand was indeed on Eurovision 1987 representing the mighty Luxembourg and he was 21/22 with 4 points (I wonder were we last?) ah still better to be a one hit wonder than no hit at all right? Rodney Rude is what you'd expect, my favourite comedians are probably the pedantic Stewart Lee (don't agree with his politics but very funny), David Baddiel ermmmmm older UK stuff.
