Wheat flour - 1 glass
Jaggery - 70g
Water - ½ glass
Ghee - 10 tbsp
Grated coconut - one handful
Cardamom powder as per your taste
Salt - 2 pinches
Hi everyone, today I am here with a sweet recipe using very simple ingredients you can find in your kitchen.
To prepare this sweet, first heat 2 tablespoons of ghee or butter in a pan and roast a handful of grated coconut lightly until it starts to change colour.
If you have ghee at home, you can use ghee for this recipe, else you can use butter.
It is okay to use either salted or unsalted butter.
Once the coconut has been lightly roasted, transfer it into another plate so that it doesn’t burn from the heat of the pan.
For the next step, add 70 g of black jaggery into a pan and add half a glass of water into it and let the jaggery melt and boil in the water to become a thick jaggery syrup. Once the syrup is ready, set it aside.
If your jaggery has stones on any kind of dirt in it, make sure to strain it after melting.
For the final step, melt 8 tablespoons or half a cup of butter or ghee in a pan and add a glass of wheat flour into the ghee or butter and sauté until the raw smell of the flour goes away. Make sure to roast the flour on the lowest flame possible so that it doesn’t burn.
Once the wheat flour has roasted well, it will turn light and airy in texture, at this point add the roasted coconut along with some cardamom powder to taste.
Next, add the prepared jaggery syrup into the mixture along with two pinches of salt and give everything a good mix on a very low flame until no lumps are left.
Once everything has mixed together, keep the flame on a medium and keep cooking until the mixture starts to thicken up and starts to leave the pain.
You can even add some nuts of your choice to this recipe.
Once the mixture starts to thicken and leave the pan, turn off the flame and transfer to a serving plate..
