I agree with dipping in and out of VMP. I’ve been a member on and off for years. I strongly advise joining Reddit and keeping an eye on the vinyl me please forum there to see what’s happening. I have found to start I wasn’t bothered about discovering but they introduced me to Sonny Rollins and now such a big fan so I am way more open to discovering new albums especially in the classics and more recently dipped into country with Johnny Cash Folsom and going country for next two months which is a big surprise to me

Sonny Rollins is Great! He has so many excellent albums. My personal favorites are Volume 2, Way Out West, The Bridge, and Saxophone 🎷 Colossus.

Your channel is underrated man. You are very honest and that is hard to find in the modern world. Keep making videos, your thoughts and perspective are interesting.

I love this album-Grizzly Bear was one of the first “modern” bands I got into so they’ve got a special place in my heart and have been wildly influential on my current music taste. That said this album was a grower for me, first couple listens I couldn’t get into it. Then it just clicked and blew my mind at one point, now it’s a favorite of mine. Southern Point is such a cool opener, I love the double climax on that song. Cheerleader was one of my early favorites on here and i was actually just humming it to myself earlier today. I really like how jazzy the vocals are on While You Wait For The Others, Two Weeks is just classic, Ready Able is gorgeous, honestly I just love every song on here. Great video as always TJR, I’m actually jealous of that vinyl and might just have to pick it up myself haha.

You are a very likable person and I enjoy watching your videos. I signed up to VMP briefly and long time ago, when they included a mixed drink recipe card. Not sure if they still do that. The one album I got before quitting was Panda Bear's "Perfect Pitch", which is awesome. The track order is different from what I was used to, so it threw me off a little. It's still good though. I also bought "Let it Bleed" on coke bottle clear vinyl - very cool pressing of this. I do the same as you - use Tidal to find new stuff and then buy it either on record or CD. Take Care, Frank

Thanks for the kind words. Glad you enjoy the videos. Never heard of Panda Bear, so I pulled them up on Tidal. Listening to them for the first time. The first Tracy sounds strangely Beach Boys like to me.

After getting the first Doors album, I switched over to the Country track since the selections are from more familiar artists to me. You can’t go wrong with Emmylou Harris and Gram Parsons. I also have their recent Vanguard folk music box set and have ordered the Philadelphia box set but was disappointed to hear this week that it won’t be coming until February now. My main complaint with the service is that it’s too difficult to switch from one track to another. For example, I wanted to get the Teddy Pendergrass album this month but was unable to do so and had to accept the Grizzly Bear album. I appreciate them wanting to expose members to unfamiliar artists but frankly I don’t like spending this much money on artists who are unknown to me. Like you, if I want to be exposed to unfamiliar artists, streaming is the way to go.
