The Veery is a small type of Thrush. While it is native to North America, it is a migratory little bird, and spends its winters in specific regions in Brazil. This one had four pale bluish eggs in her nest, which she was quite cozy to scoot down on top of and keep insulated against the day’s heat.
Fun fact I learned while filming this: Veeries have an amazing internal clock. This one sat on her eggs for periods of almost exactly a half hour like clockwork, before taking short breaks away from the nest to feed.
