I love ramen and will sometimes make it from scratch. But when rushed (or just lazy)I do like to use a pkg and pimp it up with fresh veggies and some protein. However I cannot eat the cheap stuff with all their included chemicals. There is a good, "cleaner" brand I've found Mike's Mighty Good Ramen, Vegetarian (really vegan) Kimchi flavor, organic too. Very good, but not cheap. This looks fabulous, minus the MSG, just can't do that. I might leave out the addl heat though. I like spice but not insanely so. Thanks so much Mary. Love your content.

Just thought I’d share, I made the shirataki noodles with doenjang and milk instead of gochujang and water for a simple savory version (subbed mushroom powder for gochugaru and left out the soy sauce and sweetener as well). It tasted just like chicken instant ramen and took only 5 mins to put together. Great base recipe that I’ll be throwing in the rotation! Can’t wait to try the spicy version tomorrow.

you have me sold @ 2minutes in. 1 i own these ingredients already, and 2, msg (monosodium glutamate) is WIDELY misunderstood. if you research it, it was made by a Japanese scientest to enduce the "unami" taste bud that we humans have. (It was made for peasants who eat rice to have a richer more fullfilling taste to their food. and it makes anything taste so so good). Its why ranch dressing, doritos and the like are so addictive. MSG. its seen as a health problem ingredient so no one buys it, yet no one reads lables and its a major taste bud so its craved. Like bitter, sweet, salty and savory. its a taste bud. IM SO HAPPY YOU ARE USING IT!!!!!!! I love making ruce, sprinkling some msg, and adding plum vinegar. I can eat that day and night for weeks. But do your reasearch =D before you advocate or condem cause Im just a random voice. If you still dont want to eat it, its your loss. But what I said is true. Again, its also in a lot of junk food, thats why its so addictive. cause MSG itself is seen as harmfull, so people avoid it. But yet junk food spells out MONOSODIUM GLUTAMATE (MSG) and no one cares. Cause they don't know or dont read the lable. Im just saying, if people used it more in cooking, they wouldnt have so much cravings for junk food. its a really big industry. Its not the MSG thats harmfull, but its everything else they are shoving in. We just dont get that UNAMI (MSG) taste in our normal diet so it gets insanely addictive.

@@marystestkitchen Can you use Bon Ami or Barkeepers Helper on the pan? I find it works well on enamel based pots or pans to gently remove stains. If the stain is really bad, like that one.
