I also put a motion detector floodlight inside my garage (originally just for convenience - the light switch for my garage is in a dumb location). It's one more data point for certain situations. In my case, it could tell me if someone had been in my garage if I have it open, but it also adds so much light to the garage that no one could hide in it - there just aren't any dark corners anymore.

BEST VIDEO EVER It would be amazing if you could kindly start doing more home defense videos. I’m disabled now, meaning I can’t fight like I used to & my legs hardly work. Sometimes I don’t think of common sense like which direction to go to make it more difficult for the assailant to reach me. Please keep making these videos - they should be taught in school…..

Great video! My personal ATM procedure since I get up early and I might be at the ATM at 4am: 1. I leave my pickup in drive the whole time foot on brake. 2. Fold side mirrors back out after they clear the ATM machine before I use it. 3. Hit the Rear Camera button on the dash so I can see behind my pickup and in the shrubs. 4. Remind myself that if something goes awry, forget about my card, forget about my cash that was just dispensed, floor the accelerator! As a licensed pilot we stay alive by rote rehearsing of trouble scenarios. E.g. before I takeoff I always pick a landmark midway down the runway (weed, sign, nearby tree, etc), and if I have not gained enough speed to takeoff by that point, I never try to troubleshoot on the runway, I pull power and taxi from the active and figure out what happened on a taxiway instead. That decision was made long before I got in the cockpit, stress had less chance to affect my decision. Rehearsing habits keeps careful people alive. Jason, an ATM video will be awesome!

Former LEO,: I love the vids…I also make sure I keep my “gun hand” free from carrying anything if I can avoid it and turn off my headlights and music while slightly rolling windows down ( 2inches) before I get within 30-50yds of my parking space in my apartment. This gives me time to visually scan without letting would-be “ bad-guys”know I’m home. Before exiting the car, I listen for any foot movement, talking , etc with the windows cracked ….Also, I prepare any things I need to exit the car with BEFORE pulling into a parking space --don’t want to be sitting in the “kill Zone” fumbling around” while the “bad-guys” catch me distracted and stationary !!! 😮

Really great video. Being aware of your surroundings is very important. I think one thing you said that should be stressed more. Being physically fit. So many folks have the latest and greatest Gucci Pistol and Holster but, couldn't do 5 push-ups if you held them at gun point. I am 58 years old. I have been working out for 2 1/2 years. I feel like I am 30 again. I had a little accident back in bow season and received a very bad cut to my left pinky. I couldn't workout for 2 months. I went back to feeling like a normal senior citizen. It took me a couple of months to climb back up to where I was. Honestly when I am fit, I do everything better... from guns to guitars and even just my thought process. I would love to set up a class with you this summer. Maybe me and a couple of friends.

Great video brother! Also, important to consider the unlocking features some cars have. It might be inconvenient but I for example disabled the automatic unlocking of all doors when I put the vehicle in park. I usually forget and have to go back and manually hit the unlock button when opening the rear door but it keeps the family a little safer and prevents anyone from sneaking into one of the back doors or passenger front door.

Very cool way to show just how fast things can happen right in the “safety” of your own home. I’m severely disabled and really can’t fight hand to hand or defend myself like I used to but that doesn’t mean I have to become a victim. I’ve lived a pepper’s lifestyle y whole life. Outside cameras that I have access on my phone so as I get close to home, I can clearly see all four directions. Battery back up. I never leave trash cans between ,myself in the driveway and my home just so that hidden area can’t be utilized by a criminal. Through my phone, I can activate outside lights that aren’t normally turned on but if I see something suspicious, I can light up the block. Again, great channel!

Thankfully I live in Georgia and we can carry a loaded weapon beside you in case you need it. After watching an attempted home robbery of aan walking towards his front door a few years ago, I always get out and carry things in, in mainly my left arm. Right arm with nothing in it or something that won't interfere with getting my weapon. It becomes normal after doing it for a while and will allow me to draw my weapon. Just like carrying in the home, do I expect to need it, hopefully not, but it's better to be prepared than to regret being that one in a thousand or what ever that has a bad experience.

In that security cam footage there is 5 people at his back. 3 close, 2 outside the fence. That's a tricky situation because out in the open like that you're a sitting duck. Me at my house, I'm going to push into the house because I know my wife will see the camera go off and secure herself and the kids upstairs. Because of the layout of my house I have immediate cover I can get to once inside the door. Also, I can use the door as a distraction to get to that cover along with knocking over the entry table. By the time I get to that cover I'm already turned around engaging from behind cover. I would use the upper hand of knowing my house layout better to my advantage. Now that is not my ideal circumstance and given any other option I will not be letting someone in my home. But I may have to in order to protect those in the home because if they kill me outside then my family inside is left unprotected at their mercy. Frogman and anyone else, I'd love to hear tips and advice. Also, frogman could you do a video of that scenario?

I've never been carjacked, but I have had neighbors trespassing in my hedge row at night and throwing dead animals into my pool, as well as, trying to break into my garage. When I spoke to the police about it, they told me that the people who run around at night are usually armed with assault rifles so for about 4-months I was doing nightly walks around my property with my AR. Caught the guy once, shined my flashlight on him and I screamed, "you are trespassing on private property. I am armed and I will use lethal force against you if you impose any threat against me or my family. Leave immediately!" The guy was hiding behind a tree, looked out at me and fucking bolted like a flash of lightning off my property. Ever since, the incidents of trespassing have declined. Sometimes all you need is the intimidation of a firearm to keep people at bay.

From a medical aspect, having the seatbelt across your abdomen would actually make things worse if the mvc is a decent impact. It would be better to have the seat belt low and across the pelvis. Even if it's across the firearm. Internal hemorrhage would be much more likely if your seat belt is across your lower abd instead of pelvis. Just a thought. I'm not trying to shit on any ideas here.
