Maybe it would be easier & faster if you cut your paper to the size called for, then cut or tear your middle & sew your vellum in before you score the paper. It is really a cute idea.

OMG, I remember that 10 Things to Do with an Envelope Punchboard video. It may have been the first vid of yours I saw and here I still am three years later. Have you seen Nik the Booksmith's vid on DIY 'vellum' paper? Thanks for all the great ideas!

I was thinking: If you take the paper before you cut it to size, you can just tear it somewhere and sew in a strip of vellum (you wouldn't even need to tear a strip out of the paper). Then you could cut it to size wherever it looks best. That way you wouldn't "lose" that strip of paper. Thank you so much for this tutorial and the inspiration!!!

So your saying the vellum would be half and half instead of down the middle, I think Im going to try different ways of this and use the strip you remove and do both ways. Thanks for the idea.

@@MaAllen417 You could still have a strip of vellum in the middle and the paper on the outside. I meant not tearing off a piece of the paper but just tearing it in half and putting a stip of vellum in the middle, thus making the page larger. I don't know if I am making sense 😆😅 That way you wouldn't "waste" a strip of the paper. Not that paper ever gets wasted with paper crafters ... 🤣 But half and half sounds interesting, too!

This such a cute idea! I was wondering if it would be easier to make a vellum envelope then add torn pieces of cardstock to that 😊 Thanks so much for sharing your tutorials, you’re so talented. I’ve been watching your fairy journal series and you’ve inspired me to make some journals like yours 🥰

I know this is an older project, but I feel like if you cut and sew both your vellum and paper together, making sure to sew a rough 'tear' shape across the center making sure not to sew the top and bottom of the tear - you might be able to carefully tear out the center piece of your cardstock. I want to tey this! But I want to get an envelope maker first.. lol

I love this idea! I don't have an envelope board so I pulled apart an envelope and used it as a pattern. I wonder if you could nest two vellum envelopes of the same size and put sequins or flower petals etc in the middle? 🤔 I may have to play! TFS 🤗

maybe not tear all the way through? keep the envelope intact? so you won't have to line up. great idea!
