Art House talks to Kansas City filmmaker Chuck Browne about his new Kansas City-lensed feature film “Vengeful.” The film was written by its lead actor Bobby J. Coleman, who was inspired by the racial injustice of police falsely accusing Black men of crimes they didn’t commit.
This struck a chord with Kansas City-based director Chuck Browne, who took up the challenge of bringing Coleman’s story to life. The end result is a powerful film that brings together an entire local cast and crew from Kansas City, with the “top line” jobs going to African Americans. That is very important to Browne.
