In this week's video:
After a 5 hour drive from Hotel Schloss Fernsteinsee, through the beautiful Austrian Alps and Italian Dolomites ; we made our way to the Italian coast, parked the car and took the vaporetto to our next beautiful accommodation.
The Palazzo Abadessa is a beautiful 1500s era venetian palace to a former Doge. The small but beautiful Palazzo Abadessa hosts a rare treat: its own private venetian garden - an excellent setting for an early morning European breakfast complete with a cappuccino.
The ornate lobby is full of ambiance - from the dominant smell of fresh flowers, to the private water taxi dock. A rather rare staircase is the feature of the lobby - the "embracing" staircase is the only one of its kind in Venezia. What starts as a single staircase splits in two paths: the left and the right, which both spiral 180 degrees to rejoin into a single staircase again - landing you on the second floor of the palace.
The second floor is home to beautifully elaborate decor and embellishments, with a balcony view of the private garden. Immediately across the way from the balcony is room 22: 1 of 3 main suites available, but the only one with a balcony overlooking the canals of Cannaregio. The suite - complete with functional antique furniture, linen walls, and a second story loft, was an amazing place to call home for 2 nights.
We hope you enjoyed this video! Stay tuned for next week's video - a day around Venice! Be sure to like, comment & subscribe - we'll see you in the next one!
