One side effect you didn't mention is the vivid dreams, particularly nightmares. I took one at 10am and by Noon my Vertigo was 80% gone. I thought cool.. 2am the next morning I woke up with a blinding headache, and I don't get headaches. But I did read on Web MD you might want to watch your Blood Pressure if you take this. So I decided to take my Blood pressure. 196/121. Yeah off to the Emergency room I went. Also, i have noticed that the difference between prolonged and short absorption, is that the prolonged one gives me sugar cravings meanwhile the short absorption just gives me nausea for few minutes after taking it and that's it. However. no i am trying for the N time to come off it, even if is small dosage, i still have brain zips and muscular pains. It might be good to alert people to post ssri/snri sexual dysfunction (PSSD). This condition is not rare and can occur with as little as a few days use of an antidepressant. The symptoms include numb genitals, erectile dysfunction, inability to orgasm and loss of libido. Non-sexual symptoms include loss of ability to feel emotion of any kind - complete numbness. These symptoms continue indefinitely after the medication has been stopped and there is no cure. Patients should have this information to enable them to make an informed decision about whether to take an antidepressant or to opt for non-drug options.

The side effects I can put up with as it's better than the alternative. Withdrawals are absolutely horrendous! Which I keep being forced to go through due to my pharmacist forgetting to order or having no stock. So I will have to suddenly stop taking it and then withdrawal until my medication is available, I have waited 8 days before, and then I have to restart taking it again. I wouldn't mind so much if it was nkw and then but this has happened to me repeatedly since last summer and it's affecting not only my mental health but also my physical health. I just wanted to add that from my own experience I found the side effects were much worse if I took them on an empty stomach. Venlafaxine isn't subscribed for pain. Duloxetine is the SNRI that is prescribed for pain. Amitriptyline and Lyrica is also used for pain. If an anti depressant is working don't stop it before 12 months. It's proven taking it for 12 months instead of a shorter period reduce the risk of getting depression again by a huge factor. It seems to do a pretty good job at "anti-depression". But trying to come off of it was a horrible experience. I've been on it for 5-6 years. Now I'm considering switching to longer half-life medication.

I took one of those at the advice of my ENT. In 2 hours my Vertigo was 80% gone after having The vestibular migraine for 9 months. At 2am the next morning I woke up with a blinding headache. I took my BP and it was 196/121. Yeah off to the ER I went. If I have to decide between Vertigo and a Stroke,,,,Easy choice.

Horrible. Not only does it have the worst withdrawl symptoms, it's not even addictive enough to keep you hooked enough to stay on it. Crazy. My suggested this as a first-timer and didn't even once mention about the withdrawl risk, which should be the most basic element. Definitely staying away and finding a new doctor. I think I'd rather suffer naturally than face the hassle of medication

I love your videos! I have watched a few videos so far. I am on Effexor 150mg (I think it needs to be increased to 225mg) and Buspirone. Your videos were very knowledgeable. I have recently come off of Klonopin 6mg 3x per day along with Adderall 40mg 2x per day. Withdrawal from Klonopin was horrible and still have side effects from it. I feel better with what I am taking now, but I am very tired. I have ADHD as well as Panic Disorder, GAD, and OCD. My doctor wants me to take Straterra instead of putting me on Adderall which worked very well. What are your thoughts on Effexor, Buspirone, and Adderall?

Symptom lasted for about 8 months, and consisted of headaches, little to no sleep, numb body parts, head jerks, etc... It was literally the worst experience I have gone through. On the bright side the symptoms will resolve which I didnt think they would. Good luck to you if you are thinking of stopping 🙏🙏

Works well for depression and pain mentioned in this video, but the side effects make it not worth it. For me, it gave me hypertension, high cholesterol and aching joints. When stopping the med all these symptoms went away. One more thing, withdrawals are horrible. It is very very difficult to get off this drug. Over time it is poison to your body.

Can Venlafaxine cause insomnia and agitation in Bipolar? I'm using a dose of 150mg and at night I feel very sleep deprived, having to take Trazodone or Zolpidem to get to sleep. I also use Lamotrigine and have never had any problems, but I noticed that since I started using Venlafaxine, I feel more activated and have insomnia at night.

Works well, but I have nasty side effect, nausea, on all mg versions until 75 mg, I usually take 75 mg, 160 mg does not provoke nausea but has the side effect of rising a lot my blood pressure, and my behavior tends to be more aggressive, never tried beyond that . I stopped taking fluoxetine to take this one, for at least 6 years now. Tried to leave it for 2 months but the withdrawal was abysmal, was as bad as like I was drowning in sorrow.

I've been on this medication for a good few years now for fibromyalgia and anxiety. Helps massively for anxiety, but I'm still in a lot of pain due to chronic pain. You need to weigh up the positives to the negatives.. If this drug will help your quality of life, then I would say at least try it on a low dose first and then gradually increase if needed. The side effects I now have are: dreaming (like 10 dreams a nighy) Loss of libido Night sweats (not every night, but most nights) This medication has helped me tremendously for anxiety issues.

Have this discussion with your provider. You can try to taper down to 37.5 but that might be too much. If that is the case, you will need to get it in liquid form and taper by 10-20% every month or longer depending on how you tolerate the drop.

And what can I take for my ADHD that won't conflict with it?
@LevelheadedMind
Жыл бұрын
Discuss these concerns with your provider. You can use switchrx.com as a guide to cross taper, most patients can tolerate a cross taper to fluoxetine, which can be taken with ADHD medications, but the dosages will need to stay low due to 2d6 inhibition and risk of serotonin syndrome.
