I’ve recently moved to Florida where there are many venomous snakes. No one told us when we bought the house that there were many snakes here. I’ve spent a lot of time learning to identify the different snakes and learning to watch where I step & to never reach in a bush or garden without disturbing the soil with a long handled tool first. Part of being responsible is educating yourself.

This verdict is bananas(as was his stage bumb verdict)! It's not the seller's duty to educate you! The customer may require it before they indeed choose to buy--as in asking and then ask around to verify if he's/she's being truthful. However, it's not his duty to educate a customer on a habitat! I could see a snake on my property(since I live in MS) today and it escapes. If somebody buys this property from me and gets bitten by a snake, am I liable?! THIS IS INSANE!!!!

@@newenglandneisha7724 They know to be incognito--mainly to avoid being detected by prey. And, animals(prey or predator) have better survival senses and acumen than we do. So, if snakes can remain below prey's radar long enough to bring it down, it might live in our habitats or even homes undetected for years as crazily absurb as that sounds. There was a situation when I was a pre-teen when I thought I saw a colorful belt in a cabinet in our home(rural MS habitat), but--for some reason--my mind after already walking past the tall, head-high cabinet(in one of our back rooms) said this was out of place! True enough, we(dad and family) went back, it was gone, and we never found it...Other than this time, I've probably only seen a snake one other time as a chjIb and maybe 2 or 3 times as an adult. I'm 44 5/6 years old and have lived in 2 different tree infested areas of MS. You had to be insanely careful in uncultivated territory(because they are even more hidden there than in our cultivated property and one bite might end your life), but this shows you how elusive they are for human beings not looking for them even within cultivated areas...

But, the judge should not have been so biased in the beginning; he was clearly headed in the man's direction without him proving where they came from until the defendant proved her own case(because of the shock and audience's emotions). He should have given her damages or she should have sued after. If there currently is no frivolous lawsuits or scam clause in a judge's bylaws, there should be. Not only effort, but really your due diligence before investing in a property like that - especially one with a remote location and wildlife around. The snakes don't care about property lines! If there are so many snakes in one section, there are going to be at least a couple on the other because they are the exact same environment. Unless there is a completely impenetrable fence or something surrounding the entirety of the property (which is just about impossible) then there is no way to guarantee that there are no snakes there! I definitely think that the couple should have known that there were snakes and such around the property just from the environment alone and that is pretty common knowledge in my mind. I saw the picture of the desert that their land was on and immediately snakes and scorpions come to mind. It is their natural habitat. But still, the guy should have notified them of the dangers that are present- especially since they have a young child and are anticipating having more!

I'm from Canada and seeing photographs of the yard there just shouts SNAKE COUNTRY. Dry land full of cactuses? These people live there and should know.

Question of the expert should have been how long does it take for the spiders to hatch?

They just wanted to get money out that property owner. He was the one who chose to go after the ball and not only that, desert land means snakes. The second one was like watching an ending to a cartoon hero show 😅
