I tried one of these transfers from Edmonton (EC) off of routes 397/W11 which were both lost to CT Plus, of which their 9.6m ENSs replaced the ageing Darts on 410 in a contract retain. As soon as I stepped foot onto the bus, I noticed it was doing really poor or the driver was dragging it out, but the more I was on it I concluded the former was the case. To back my point, when this was fully packed, it was struggling, it was also struggling up any minor incline even when nicely loaded compared to when fully packed. The incline on East Croydon when fully packed was devastating, and so is this Anerley Hill climb which is tens of times more dangerous if the bus was fully packed but it was more or less empty.
Yes, I knew full well the consequences and this was recorded during the school rush hours but I bypassed that in favour of this astonishingly entertaining hill climb to the point the driver had to announce as you heard in the video, that "this bus is slow". If you heard their convo, they were right about 3 410s, ENS24 (this), ENS27 (right behind us and overtook us at end of video), ENS28 (originally right behind this ENS24 at West Croydon).
