We are still waiting on input from a wildlife vet regarding Stormy’s blood values. Her values have some abnormalities but not sure if we will need to provide treatment or just rest and time.
Stormy handled the visit like a champ! We believe it’s a young female based on x-rays. I’m guessing that this young beaver should have still been with her parents but was separated from them for what ever reason. Based on her weight loss she has not been eating well for weeks. Her weakness (and perhaps not having a home) made her susceptible to being washed away in the storms.
The amazing team of vet techs and vets at the Gulf Coast Emergency Veterinary Hospital helped us out today. They primarily treat dogs and cats but always happy to help us with the wildlife. For tricky cases we send results to wildlife veterinary specialists for review.
The hospital has an Angel Fund. They use these funds to help dogs and cats in veterinary need. If you want to donate just make sure to say it’s for the angel fund or to help with wildlife vet care costs.

Your donations to me or Paula Woodside also are used to pay veterinary costs. So thank you!!
I’m am very happy with today’s visit and hopeful for this young beavers recovery.
