I wouldn't put the reagent strip in the container you plan to drink from (before or after distillation). Pour a sample from the drinking pitcher into a separate dedicated container and test from that. A tubular beaker long enough to accommodate the strip should work fine. Reagent strips work by being impregnated with reactive chemicals...which you probably don't want in your water.

I bought the same water distiller. The head doesn't fit perfectly with the body, and the steam escapes without being condensed. I've tried to remove the silicone ring and replace it, but my problem still exists. Any recommendations?

Your water looked fine before you distilled it. Some people use distillation to remove fluoride, but it looks like you don't have it in the water anyway? Distilled water is dead water that will leach minerals from your body, the same trace minerals that distillation removes. It shouldn't be drunk before remineralising with a little pink Himalayan salt. That aside, thanks for showing how it works. Having seen your demo I'm going to buy one to get rid of fluoride, then use a little Himalayan salt to replace the good trace minerals.
@wandayonder9772

@quiet4034 I can't post links here. Google drinking distilled water or remineralising distilled water to find the medical reasons. Removing the trace minerals and the electrolytes make it more difficult for the body to rehydrate. Distilled water doesn't occur naturally. "Pure" water always has trace minerals in it.

How do you get this thing to work correctly? When the pressure builds the top lifts up and all the water pours down the sides. Hardly any water goes inside of the glass container. I had seen somebody say to use the metal rack and put it on top and then put a heavy object on top of the rack to hold the top component down. You shouldn't have to do this to make it work but I did it and it prevented it from lifting up but water still drips down the sides with hardly any going in the glass container even after 2 hours. What am I doing wrong?

Since you're experienced with this I have some questions if you want to answer: How long does a machine like this last? When do you know when to replace the carbon filter? Do you know how much electricity it consumes per liter of water?
@magickalmedicinal
Жыл бұрын
I didn’t see any information on installing the filter and was just curious what your process was in doing that? I was looking up some information and I saw that you’re supposed to soak it first and wait until the water runs clear? Is that accurate for this machine? Or does it not matter and I can just put the filter and dry?
@captainmarksreviews4061

I put the the filter in dry and it’s been working fine no issues. I think that’s the same procedure on all water filters. like I said, it’s working great!!

What is the metal grate for? It looks like a grill with 4 legs. Also, if I'm distilling IPA, should I take out the charcoal filter bag? Will the citric acid cleaner help with the resin residue after distilling IPA that is used for 3d printing?

@captainmarksreviews4061

Yeah, they didn’t really talk about it too much and I didn’t put it in the video. You just mix it up and water. I like to just put a little water inside put the granules in there that will dissolve and clean it. Basically it’s just like Granuel soap crystallized.
