4:38 This is the perfect opportunity to explain how the arbor and chuck fit together, and the various "tapers" involved. There is a ton of confusion out there about using a different after-market chuck, such as a keyless one. The arbor itself plugs in to the drill press at one end, and accepts the chuck at the other end. From another video, I learned that the arbor for the Vevor 12" is a very-standard #2 Morris Tapers, aka MT2. This is what plugs into the drill press itself. At the other end of the arbor is the Jacobs Taper, or JTx, where the "x" is a range of numbers. For the Vevor 12" press, the supplied arbor accepts a Jacobs Taper #3, or JT3. The arbor is defined by these two tapers, MT2-JT3, which is where the confusion comes in. Scanning Amazon for ideas, I see that the popular (for casual users) Jacobs Taper is the JT33, which is actually a smaller diameter than the JT3. Go figure. I gather that the larger diameter JT3 is stronger than the smaller diameter JT33. The smaller drill presses usually ship with a MT2-JT33 taper. Where many casual users go wrong is ordering the wrong Jacobs Taper for their presses. When buying the 8" and 10" presses, it looks they ship with MT2-JT33 arbors and JT33 chucks, while the 12" models employ the heavier-duty MT2-JT3 arbor and JT3 chuck. You can buy a combo upgrade packages on Amazon that ship both the keyless chuck and the arbor. Make sure that the Arbor will fit in your press and that the chuck will fit on the arbor! BTW: I only learned this stuff tonight after realizing that I don't understand any of it. My apologies to actual machinists out there!

Great review and instructional video. Very thorough. I just bought one of the drill presses through an auction. It's brand new in the box. I got it for 55.00 so I got a great deal. It will be so nice to have it when the time comes that it's needed

I was wondering if they both are outsourcing from the same factory in China. Probably from the same production line with different plates on them. Like Philips, DeWalt, now they are traders.

No, the lights and laser are not battery operated. They both are powered by the electricity. No battery

I just can't seem to trust Vevor. They seem like a fly-by-night, here today, gone tomorrow type of company. The owners have changed their company name more times than I care to count. I looked up one of their right angle die grinders that claimed it used ball bearings when the picture plainly showed it was using roller bearings, lol. I did buy a drill press but I ended up going with a Wen of the same size.
