And it so happens I had a little fun with a VFR400 also. Thanks for posting. There's so much I can learn from watching that.

Still have the VFR400 I hope? Wicked video and after watching this a few times over the years I just realized your bike had 69,000km + on it. Mine has the same mileage on it now and is running pretty damn well for a 32 year old bike. A true testament to the build quality of these little V4's.

eamon doyle Nope! I got Robert Taylor at KSS to upgrade the front end with stiffer springs and race tech emulators and also put on a Nitron 3 way shock. Not cheap but well worth it.

What tyres are you running? I can find much decent sports tyres for my vfr400
@jonathancoates2259
8 жыл бұрын
+joshfspnz Dunlop Alpha 13s. If you are in New Zealand they are the best tyres to run. Available in both 17" and 18" for the rear. You can also get the Bridgeston BT090 from bits4bikes. This is another good option for the 18" rear. Best to match with a Bridgestone 003 front or maybe even the Bridgestone S20 front.
@joshfspnz
8 жыл бұрын
+Jonathan Coates Awesome cheers for that mate. Yeah I am in NZ :). I've got Bridgestone BT003's on my cbr250rr and I really like them. How do you find the BT090 or alpha 13 compare to a BT003 or a rosso 2? Those are the only tyres I've got experiance with...
@jonathancoates2259
8 жыл бұрын
+joshfspnz Honestly couldn't tell ya. Have only ridden on the Dunlops and cheap shinkos. Everyone in the UK uses BT090s on their NC30s as that is the only 18" sticky rubber. I would grab whatever is cheaper out of the Alpha 13s or BT003 Front and BT090 Rear combo. If you get a 17" rim for the rear you have a much larger tyre selection.

thestar111 Could do with a service. Coolant was boiling on return to pits. Fan doesn't turn on until it is very hot should probably put a switch in.

+thestar111 I remember mine getting really hot when racing a suberu through Camden in London one night, as the last owner told me. The bike still won when bored of it, and no laws broken ofc. They chatted at each set of lights :)

+Jonathan Coates no need for a switch if the cooling system / water pump are in good order.. they ran fine in Japan during 40c summers and rush hour traffic.. gauge reading is quite hot for the fan to come on but well within spec... adding a switch just mask symptoms.. most comon is sludge in engine / lower rad fins blocked up wtih road grime. also coem across nc30 with partially blocked rads (check for cold spots)

+MutieThePig I think the CBR waited for him, like in traffic? Our VFR's were clearly faster in corners but on long straights we lost out to the bigger engines. TL;DR get a vfr400rr for in towns like London :)
