Wow, long taxi. Ugh. I've never been routed that way for a 27 departure. Thanks for posting! Y'all make a great team.

Been there three times and am still amazed at how efficiently this all volunteer force can handle the amount of traffic it does. Thanks for your cockpit perspective on coming and going at AirVenture.

If there was a log book for taxi time, this would be the place to rack it up...haha. Looks so fun though! Starting flight school in January. Can't wait to [hopefully] take part in this.

So when you aren't flying in and out of Oshkosh, I'm guessing that you two are professional models! I've been watching your videos to review taking a 172 to Airventure next year with my brother. Thanks for the videos!

Great video, thanks! Did you leave on Friday? They were using 27 with a 10-knot tailwind; I've never had a longer take-off roll!

James Hanson thanks! We left Thursday morning and had about 7kts on the tail. The takeoff roll was longer than I'm used to for sure.

Captain Scafe, Noticed on the takeoff roll you were only getting about 2300 rpm at full throttle. Was wondering what the static rpm is for your airplane according to the type certificate. I realize there might be some tach error, but it looks like your motor is not turning up the correct rpm which could be indicative of several issues. Enjoyed your vid. Captain Emeritus

Danny D. Daniels thanks for the comment and for checking up on our engine health! The manual allows a static RPM range of 2260 - 2360 and I normally see closer to 2350 at the start of a takeoff roll. It's difficult to see in the video but tach is actually reading about 2350 - 2400 about the time the plane starts rolling. The fact that I gradually added power probably didn't make that very clear. Also, from this angle, the big line marked on the gage almost appears to be labeled "25" but could easily be mistaken for redline (2700).

What day did you leave? I guess no problem with engine temps on the ground?

guintube we left on Thursday morning. Our engine temps stayed under control during the long wait but some reported getting hot. The cool morning air temperature helped.

Haha. You replied on the ground frequency, not the tower frequency. But you got me to look at this vid too Smart. This is another awesome video. Seriously , this is like being there. I am enjoying this as much as you two. I am GREEN with envy. I wish you uploaded the first video with just continuous external shot, but with same soundtrack. We miss crucial happenings when you pan into the cockpit. Thanks you both for the ride.
